ATLANTIC WALL JUNE 6TH, 1944

Scenario: France D-Day June 6th, 1944 You are Commanding the 29th Infantry Division as part of Operation Overlord driving East toward the heart of Fortress Europa. You have been ordered to smash through to the important road net junction of St. Lo as soon as possible. Your objectives are Omaha Beach (starting point), Grandchamps, Isigny, Longueville, East of the Vire, La Luzerne, Martinville Ridge, Hill 108, and St. Lo. Intelligence: This is it! D-Day is here! The Navy and flyboys have been pounding the landing zones! We are not expecting to much in the realm of defense, but its not going to be a walk in the park! The krauts are waiting for us so lets not disappoint them Time to complete the mission: Each Battle represents 2 days (3 battles is a week) Results: 3 Weeks Complete Victory with the capture of St. Lo! With such a rapid advance, 3 complete German divisions have been captured! 4 Weeks Victory! 5 Weeks Draw. The Germans managed to withdraw in good order and have inflicted their desired delay for their reinforcements to arrive. 6 Weeks+ Resign Command. The drive has failed and Germans have had the time to reinforce their lines and make taking St. Lo impossible for the time being. Supply Conditions: Fully Supplied Initiative Clock: +2 Weather Conditions: Overcast. Start at the 6am Day Segment. Each Day segment throw d6. On a 6, roll a d10 on the weather table for change. Weather Table: 1d10 1-4 Overcast/No Air Support 5-7 Rain/No Air Support 7-8 Thunderstorm/No Air Support 9-0 Clear/Mud if after Thunderstorm or Rain American Morale: All Division formations are Reservists except that Recce, Tank & Engineer formations are Regulars unless noted. General Cota (B) arrives on the Beach!: General Cota arrives with the 4th wave and with a formation of the players choosing. He is attached and will automatically make the formation fanatic. While he is on the Beach, the Divisions Decision Die Color goes from Blue to Red as he was a dynamo for getting things done. He must be attached to a formation on the map. If he is killed, the Decision Die drops back down to the normal Blue Die. The rules are followed normally otherwise for Command Color. German Deployment: Place all of the German forces that are in the front line on the battlefield. Those behind the front line, mark their positions on a strategic map or use markers. If using markers, the German player has 8 Dummy markers to place as well. Repeat this procedure with each subsequent battle but use the Force Availability table after the first battle for deployment and arrivals. Pre-Dawn Bombardment: The Allied player will have 6 Salvoes of 150mm Naval Gunfire at any position or feature of choice . Naval Gunfire Support After Landing: The Allied player will have 2 Salvos of 150mm Naval Gunfire available every turn of a Day Segment. This can only be called in by an OP once on the beach. There are 6 OPs and must be assigned to a formation before battle. Treat them as an attached company and can be eliminated. Once all 6 OPs are removed, there will no longer be Naval Support fire. Beachmaster: At the 8am Day Segment, the Beachmaster has arrived and setup his teams position on one of the beach zones known only to the American player. Once deployed, the Beachmaster can redirect any Landing craft to any Beach zone by successfully rolling on his communication roll. 1d6 with a 6 failing to make the call.

THE 29TH AT OMAHA BEACH JUNE 6TH, 1944

Background: On D-Day, the untested 29th Infantry Division, joined by nine companies of U.S. Army Rangers redirected from Pointe du Hoc, were to assault the western half of the beach. The battle-hardened 1st Infantry Division was given the eastern half. The initial assault waves, consisting of tanks, infantry, and combat engineer forces, were carefully planned to reduce the coastal defenses and allow the larger ships of the follow-up waves to land. American Briefing: Listen up! This is it! H-Hour has arrived and we are on! Lets get on and off that beach before the day is done! German Briefing: Achtung! The invasion has started and it is not a drill! Get everyone to their positions and we must hold them to the beaches! OKW has promised us reinforcements, but some of them back at HQ believe this is only a diversion of the real attack coming at Pas Du Calais. Whether it is or it isnt your task is to hold until relieved! Weather Conditions: Overcast. Check for weather change each Day segment with a 1 Decorated Leaders: Must be assigned before play. Allied Air Support: Morale: Veteran 6 Decorated Pilots 2 P-47 Squadrons 1 P-51 Squadron 1 A-20 Havoc Squadron German Air SupportAXIS player rolls a d10 Each Day Segment that the weather is clear with a 1 making the Squadron available/can be held in reserve once made available) Morale: Veteran 3 Decorated Pilots 1 Me-109f Squadron Beach Names: Easy Green (EG), Dog Red (DR), Dog White (DW), Dog Green (DG), Charlie (C) Transport Type: LCT=Landing Craft Transport, LCM=Landing Craft Mechanized, LCA=Landing Craft Assault, LCVP=Landing Craft Vehicle/Personnel To represent each transport type, 1 LCT or LCM represents one formation and 3 LCVP or 3 LCAs represents one formation. Landing Waves: The landings will be conducted in waves with the following schedule 6am Day Segment 4 turns/Allies have the initiative for the first Day Segment with 4 turns: 743rd Tank Battalion EG LCT, 2/116th Battalion DW LCA Wave 1 (turn 1) 146th Engineer Battalion DR LCM, 1/116th Battalion DG LCVP Wave 2 (turn 2) 3/116th Battalion EG LCVP, 467th AAA Battalion DW LCT, 2nd Ranger Battalion C LCA Wave 3 (turn 3) 112th Engineer Battalion EG LCM, 149th Engineer Beach Battalion DG LCM, 110th Field Artillery Battalion DR LCT Wave 4 (turn 4) 5th Ranger Battalion DG LCA, 121st Engineer Battalion DW LCM Wave 5 (8 am Day segment, turn 1) Refer to the Army List for arrival details with a maximum of 3 formations per turn. 175th Regiment is released on at 4pm Day Segment or later. Tides & Current: [1st and 2nd wave only] Once the landing formation in its appropriate landing craft is placed at its entry point as designated by the Landing Wave table, the owning player will throw 1d10+2 showing the number of inches for drift. Landing Craft headed for Dog Green or Charlie will drift right and those going to Dog White, Dog Red and Easy Green will drift left.

Scenario can be played as a stand alone game, but to play it as a campaign, you will need the PANZER KORPS CAMPAIGNS supplement.

The Battle Zone Apart from the woods, towns and villages shown on the map, the terrain is hilly and sandy. Vierville, St. LaurentHeavy Cover Stone Structures and each Town zone is 6in.x 6in. Woods Medium Cover Road does give a road bonus for formations starting on it and in Transit Column. The scenario can last up to 2 complete battle days and begins at 6am Rain/Fog/Mist will reduce visibility in the open to 20 inches and in the Woods to 2 inches Cliff face is impassable for any vehicleFor ease of play, consider the Mountain areas as one level higher than the flat lands. Since visibility will plague the game, it will not be an issue. Follow normal rules for vehicles when entering woods or mountains when not on the road in Transit column. BeachNon-tracked vehicles must always roll for breakdown on in the mud. Sea WallIt must be breached with a dozer equipped formation or destroyed by engineers. It provides Heavy cover and any troops prone or kneeling cannot be fired at directly or seen. MinesThe German player has 4 mine fields to place along with 2 false ones. Sea minesA tracked formation or a formation with a dozer can clear a path at the same width at the formation itself. Every Landing craft after the 1 wave, will need to throw 1d6. With a 1 showing the formation hit a mine and take an appropriate amount of DMs. Treat as if hit by 60mm mortar Regulars.

Special Rules: 1. SupplyAll allied divisions are assumed to start with one supply column unless destroyed in the game. After Each battle, roll a d6 with a 1 means the division is out of supply for the coming battle unless Air Supplied. 2. Air SupportNormal rules apply for air support. Roll a d6 with a 1 having a German controlled airfield on the upcoming battlefield per Campaign Rules 3. Air SupplyThe Allies and the Germans follow the same rules for Air Supply. Any Division or Force Command which is either beleaguered or out of supply may be re-supplied by Air. At least one transport Squadron must survive any air combat and any AA morale rolls for it to deliver a complete re-supply. All formations of a resupplied division which are not isolated (having a gap of at least 3 inches toward re-supply point) have been fully re-supplied. 4. BeleagueredAny Division or Force Command that finds itself cut off (no gap of 3 inches or more from the closest friendly Division or Force Command) is considered Beleaguered. Beleaguered Divisions or Force Command cannot be re-supplied by land, any formation cannot attempt to engage in Close Combat unless passing a Command Roll d10 on the leader rating before the normal close assault morale test. Beleaguered Formations will also receive a +1 to the Leader Close Combat roll for desperation bonus. 5. St. LoThis is classified as a Minor City. The St. Lo battlefield, if defended, will be created following the normal rules after the St. Lo City sections have been placed. St. Lo is created by the defender placing 5 city sections in any order or arrangement beginning from the center of the battlefield. Place one airfield after the city sections are placed, but before the rest the terrain. There is a main road that runs east to west and another that runs north to south as well as a rail yard made up of 2 city sections with a rail link connecting east to west. All city sections, except the rail yard, are considered heavy cover. The first city section placed is the Cathedral and is Super Heavy Cover. 6. 2 DC-3 Transport squadrons are assigned to the Normandy Area for the allies and cannot be replaced once lost. They can be used for re-supply flights.
