The Australian accordionist, Nicole Dagostino, started playing the accordion at age
eleven. She studied at Edith Cowan University, the Western Australian Academy of
Performing Arts, Perth Western Australia completing a Bachelor of Education, Majoring in
Music and Drama from (2002- 2005). She received a scholarship for the Golden Key
International Honour Society Award, in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement
and excellence in education studies.
Nicole Dagostino is Perth’s youngest female accordionist. She has concretised throughout
Western Australia earning praise such as, "a once-in-a-lifetime experience". She has
performed as a soloist amongst many corporate venues and settings in Perth, including
winery festivals, spring in the valley tours, and various corporate indoor and outdoor
'swaave' functions. She has worked and performed with National Artists including:
Graeme Lyall, Darryl Somers, James Morrison, Don Burrows, Joe Chindamo, Patrick
McMann, Tony, Pantano and late: The Drifters, Peter Puccini, Ross Maio, David Krygger,
Eddie Stazack, to mention a few. She has also toured Western Australia with Ireland’s
finest dance and music phenomenon; Ceol Chirrai- ‘Spirit of the Dance Tour Australia’.
Nicole was an accredited member of the Western Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra:
Composers Ensemble (WAYJO) from 2002-2005- performing accordion for selected
orchestral pieces composed by Perth Artists. She was also an active member of the Perth
Accordion Orchestra, directed by Mr. David Krygger- performing for many audiences and
venues W.A wide.
She has endured many years in Musical productions as an accordionist; Fiddler on the
Roof (St Hilda’s, Opera in Company, WAAPA, Mercedes College, Newman College) and
Marco Polo (Camelot Theatre) and has been appointed Musical Director for Musicals
including (Company (2004), Club Gargouille Part 2 (2007), Club Gargouille- Series 3
(2008,) under direction and creation of Mr. George White.
Her repertoire ranges from the Baroque to the Contemporary- touching on a dash of
Western Tradition Classical and 20th Century pieces, a splash of Irish Gigues, a hint of
German Polkas, an array of Italian Waltzes, Tango’s, and Tarantella’s, and a mixture of
French Favourites- including all of Piaf repertoire. Nicole Dagostino has recorded with
Perth phenomenon Mace Francis (from the late Mace Francis Orchestra), and has recently
recorded with Miss Grace Barbe from the Seychelles, in a reggae/soul setting, in which
one of the songs on the album was awarded 1st place in the WAMI songwriters award, and
ranked on the Top 100 Triple J Hits (2008). Nicole is also currently involved with a
recording project for Perth Artist Ryan Webb, (Soundbaker Records- Rob Agostini (2008).)
Nicole Dagostino is regarded a credited and professional educator, and Secondary Music
Teacher- having taught young students to be involved in Music from a young age. She will
aspire to inspire the musicians of tomorrow to the wonderful world of music...
