General Conditions of Contract (GCC 2010) Seminar Outline

The objective of this seminar is to have a pro-active feel good learning experience in understanding and working with GCC 2010. The General Conditions of Contract for Construction Works, 2 Edition, (GCC 2010) published by SAICE, has been revised to clear up responsibilities and to provide for a wider spectrum of construction works. It is suitable for both construction and building works contracts as well as for the design and built environment contracting strategies.
nd

Key topics that will be covered include:

nd

Overview of the development of GCC 2010. Uniformity in construction procurement. Guidance on how to apply GCC 2010. Dispute resolution methods available in GCC 2010.

The 2 Edition satisfies the Construction Industry Development Boards Standard for nd Uniformity in Construction Procurement. The 2 Edition is also appropriate for mechanical and electrical work. It is perfect in dealing with civil, mechanical, electrical and building projects or a combination of these projects. The relationship between the three main role-players (Employers, Contractors, and Engineers) is extremely important for the successful completion of a contract. For the smooth running of a contract, each party has specific responsibilities to fulfil. For a better understanding of these responsibilities, one has to understand the Contract, and learn to interpret it properly.
