Study Material and Time Table Nature of study

Students will receive course material of CPU3148Management Information


Systems and the time table Study material will be discussed at day schools organized by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. During the first semester, to assess the students the department will conduct two written tests NBT-1, NBT-2 (No Book Test). Marks of these tests will be used to calculate the eligibility mark (CAM). Three-day schools are scheduled. In addition workshops will also be held. The NBT-1 will be held after covering chapters 1-12 in the day schools. Students are not allowed to use any study material at the test. Test duration is one and half hours. Test is held in Colombo, Kandy, Matara, Batticalo, Jaffna and Anuradhapura regional centers. Before the NBT-2, chapters 13-25 will be covered in the day schools. The NBT-2 questions are set from the content covered at the day schools held before the NBT-2 date. Students are not allowed to use any study material at the test. Test duration is one and half hours. Test is held in Colombo, Kandy, Matara, Batticalo, Jaffna and Anuradhapura regional centers. Students need to obtain minimum of 40% to be eligible for the final examination. Eligibility marks will be calculated based on your performance at the NBT-1 and NBT-2. The final eligibility marks are calculated as follows:

CAM = Highest mark x 60% + Lowest mark x 40% (Eligibility Marks) at NBT-1 / NBT-2 at NBT-1 / NBT-2 Final Exam is held in Colombo, Kandy, Matara, Batticalo, Jaffna and Anuradhapura regional centers and the exam duration is two and half hours. Final grade will be calculated as follows: Final Mark = Final exam Marks obtain at the x 50% + CAM x 50%
