The Fritz Enterprise & Huron Valley Steel Music & Art in the Gardens 2013 Summer Concert Series will go onRain or shine!
TAYLOR - Music & Art moved out of the Gardens of the Taylor Conservatory this past Wednesday evening and into the air conditioned splendor of the Heritage Park Activity Building. A crowd of more than 100 fans still made their way out despite the forecast of thunderstorms. The evenings featured musicians were The Paul VornHagen Quartet and featured visual artists were Maralena Howard and Mary Moran. Paul VornHagen s energetic performance included flute and saxophone solos and vocals as well as a few skilled dance moves! At one point in the show VornHagen left his microphone behind and ventured out into the audience to find a dance partner as his band played on. The spontaneous number had guests cheering with excitement. VornHagen then politely exited back to his position with the quartet as they wrapped up the evening with beautiful melodies and soothing vocals. Maralena Howards artwork kept the audience inspired through -out the evening. As the band played, guests mingled and complimented the creative use of colors and patterns contained in Maralenas skillful creations. Mary Moran brought a sense of the garden to the indoor venue with her original, nature- themed artwork. A variety of animals, butterflies and greenery were composed upon natural elements such as wood and slate. Each detailed piece presented a unique form that added natural beauty to her presentation. The Music & Art in the Gardens, Wednesday, July 3rd presentation will feature a captivating collection of fine art pieces by Artist Kathleen OConnell. Musical guest will be highly acclaimed, local and national headliner, Sean Dobbins & Friends.
