Executive Summary This research recognize the importance of using mobile phone among Diploma students in SEGi College Penang as well as the advantages and disadvantages of using mobile phone. The respondents are selected form Diploma In Information Technology(DIIT), Diploma In Business Administration(DIBA), Diploma In

Accounting(DIA), Diploma In Hospitality and Tourism Management. This research is investigated through conducting a research by distributing questionnaire to the students(respondents) who selected as a samples. The sample are selected using quota sampling which means the samples are selected from the population. The total of population are 106 students, we select the research 10 sample students from 45 students in Diploma In Business Administration(DIBA), 20 sample students from 21 students on Diploma In Information Technology(DIIT), 10 sample students from 25 students in Diploma In Accounting(DIA) and 10 sample students from 15 students in Diploma In Hospitality and Tourism Management(DHTM). The population of each course are We select 95% of sample students from DIIT, and 22% of sample students from DIBA, 40% of sample students from DIA and 66% sample students from DHTM. We can found that the importance among Diploma students among SEGi College Penang. Some of the students use the mobile phone to searching for the information that the lecturer given, save notes in mobile phone for review before exam, discuss work with friends and so on In addition , mobile phones also have some advantages among college students. Students can use the phone calculator for math question and phone dictionary to check word meaning as well as use phone to store lecture note. Mobile phone also allow parent keep in touch with their children during school. On the other hand, mobile phones also have disadvantages. With heavily use of mobile phone can cause insomnia and radiation effect even more serious is cancer. Due to usage of mobile phone, students can cheating in exam and addict in playing mobile games as well as cannot concentrate in class.
