Words are the basic units of analysis. Word can be formed or expanded through the various morphological processes.

Words are potentially complex units, composed of even more basic units, called morphemes. A Morphemes is the smallest part of a word that has grammatical function or meaning. Every word is composed of one or more morphemes. There are two types of morphemes that are free and bound morphemes. Affixes also take part in word formation process. Affixes are classified according to whether they are attached before or after the form to which they are added that is prefixes are attached before while suffixes after. Morphemes also classified as root, derivational, or inflectional. A root morpheme is the basic form to which other morphemes are attached. It provides basic meaning of the word. Derivational morphemes are added to forms separate word apposite to inflectional morphemes that do not create separate word. Such words are called compounds that contain two or more words or roots, all, one, or none of which may be bound with two free morphemes and two bound morphemes. Besides derivation and compounding, languages make use of coining, abbreviating, blending, and borrowing to create new words. Coining is creating new words without reference to the existing morphological resources of the languages. Abbreviation involves of shortening the existing words to create other words. Blending involves taking two or more words, remove such parts of the words, removing parts of each, and joining the residues together to create a new word whose form and meaning are taken from the source words. Borrowing involves copying a word that originally belonged in one language into another language but the words never remains a perfect copy of its original. It is made to fit the phonology, morphological, and syntactic patterns of its new language. The words or language structures that are distinctively used today are abbreviation words. For examples, the word of laugh out loud be abbreviate into LOL and A3 for anytime, anywhere, anyplace. Besides that, the blending word also being used such as chexting which is combination of cheating and texting while the word staycation from the words stay home and vacation. Nowadays, borrowing a word from other language always occur. Some example of word borrowing is burritos or taco de harina is a type of Mexican food. The Spanish pronunciation of Burritos is very different from the English pronunciation. These changes actually bring a negative effect to the language development of the younger generation. It is true it is much easy when we can save our time to say lot of word using the shortest way to say it but in other side, they will be habitual to the word that they

usually used and forget the root word of it. Its mean that the root word may be forget by the young generation and cause them lack of knowledge of word.
