Place vinyl caps over top of top ladder section, and when starting new ladder sections at platforms. The caps are used to prevent moisture from getting into the ladder rails and causing rust. (Note: No caps are needed on top ladder section at eave when right and left hand tubes are being used at eave.)
Page 7
3) Place the L.H. and R.H. tubes on top of the top ladder section as shown below. Field drill holes into the roof ladder rails and roof panel ribs and bolt the tubes to the roof with 5/16 x bin bolts. Tighten all bolts.
Page 8
4) As the tank is being raised, bolt the next ladder section to the sidewall at the horizontal seam and attach the ladder sections together, as shown.
5) All ladders stop one ring above the base of the tank; attach last 1 ring section of ladder to the bottom ladder section as shown.
Page 9
6) Attach standoff brackets to the L.H. and R.H. tubes with 5/16 x 1-1/2 bin bolts
Page 10
7) Begin installation of the safety cage by bolting the hoop sections to the standoff brackets with 5/16 x 3/4 bolts. Attach the cage straps to the hoop sections with 5/16 x 3/4 bolts. Begin bolting the hoops to the ladder sections with the standoff brackets. Proceed down the tank with either 1 or 2 ring cage straps. (For bins with Inspection Platforms see section on Inspection Section installation for cage installation at peak)

B. Rest Platform
The rest platform must be located in a position so that when a person steps off the ladder and onto the platform he could climb the next section of ladder. Bolt the (2) platform side toe boards to front toe board with 5/16 x carriage bolts as shown. Use same bolts to attach brace tubes to toe boards. Bolt platform brace to front toe board as shown, with 5/16 x carriage bolts.
Attach grate assembly to front toe board with 3/8 x 1 bolts as shown. Grate can be placed on left or right side of platform.

Attach platform brace angle to stiffener at sidewall seam as shown, with 7/16 bin bolts. Platform is always bolted below stiffener splices as shown. Field drill holes into sidewall and attach bolting clips to sidewall.
Page 17
Use bottom ladder sections at the rest platforms as shown. Ladder sections extend one ring past the opening is the rest platform. Continue down with the next section of safety cage at the horizontal seam that the rest platform is bolted to.
