The Benefits of Conservation Issues such as global warming and nature-deficit make people concern more on the importance of environment stability. Many efforts have been done to maintain terrestrial and marine biodiversity. All efforts deal with those purposes called conservation. Many people believe that nature gives benefits for human. This essay will discuss on the benefits of conservation in Indonesia. The benefits of conservation cover many aspects of life such as economy, scientific, aesthetic, and livelihood. Conservation gives its benefit to economy of Indonesia. By preserving forest, tangible natural resources such as woods, rattan, fruits, honey, and other are kept in growth to support national income. Syarif C. Sutardjo, Minister of Marines and Fisheries (KKP) explained that they successfully developed conservation in marine continuously for 16,06 millions hectare. Those efforts were followed by preventing resources damaging activity until 41%. Blue economy approach also helps Indonesias waterways and fisheries industrial. A balance ecological system keeps biodiversity in ideal condition which allows various species to grow. Indonesia has so many kinds of endangered animals like turtle in East Java, West Java and Bali, Javanese rhinoceros in Ujungkulon West Java, Sumatra Elephant in Waykambas South Sumatra, etc. In order to keep them safe, people do many ways such as providing them sanctuary. In coastal area, many people also plant mangrove to maintain balance ecological system prevent ocean erosion. Indonesia as archipelago has so many beautiful coasts and landscapes. Clean and balance ecological system often be the reason why tourists visit Indonesia. It also becomes a recreation place, camping place, etc. Conservation in UU Konservasi No. 5 Tahun 1990 is defined as various way in managing sanctuary areas, biosfer, pretected areas like national park etc. However, using natural resources as many as needed with renewing them can be said as conservation also. As long as they are in good quality, they will give us and our next generation contributions such us clean air, clean water, tangible and intangible natural resources, and indirectly prevent many problems deal with natural damage. Conservations or using natural resources as many as needed and efforts in maintaining ecological system balance give us many benefits in many aspects like economy, scientific, aesthetic, and livelihood. What we do to the nature now is what it will give to us and our next generation in the future.
