Bureau Veritas is registered with the FCC and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited via A2LA
to provide complete telecommunications testing and certification through our
in-house Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB). Canada’s IC has approved
Bureau Veritas for testing to the CS-03 standard for all regulated interface types,
both analog and digital. Bureau Veritas has the knowledgeable professionals and
equipment to conduct efficient regulatory compliance testing on your product
whether from a PBX containing voice and T1 port, a primary and basic rate ISDN, or
an analog or xDSL modem.
As part of our services, we have developed customized testing for central office
type products that are required to comply with network operators requirements.
These custom tests often involve preliminary research to ascertain the most cost
effective route to compliance. Working in partnership with your design team, we can
also test high-speed copper and optical interfaces, testing that can be carried out at
Bureau Veritas or at your location.

FAQ
To which products do the FCC regulations apply?
FCC regulations apply to electrical and electronic products that may produce radio frequency pollution. Two main types
of products covered are “Intentional Radiators” and “Unintentional Radiators.” An Intentional Radiator is a device that
broadcasts radio energy (not infrared or ultrasonic energy) to perform its function and include products such as cell phones,
CB radios, walkie-talkies, wireless connections, Bluetooth connections, short range broadcast equipment, and wireless
key-access systems.
An Unintentional Radiator is an electronic digital or radio device that, because of the rapid oscillation of electric
current in the device, produces radio signals that are broadcast through space or conducted along power lines. Examples
of Unintentional Radiators are: television sets, computers, electronic games, radar detectors, digital cameras, USB
peripherals, radios, digital clocks, musical equipment, and MP3 devices.

As a retailer, why should I be concerned about FCC regulations?

There are several reasons for compliance with FCC regulations. Primarily, in the U.S. it is illegal to import, sell, or operate
electronic devices that have not undergone the required equipment authorization procedure. Merchandise that is deemed
illegal can be subject to forfeiture, and the responsible party fined. Products imported without FCC certification can also be
held back at Customs and/or result in consumer concerns.
