Assignment 2 My beliefs inspire me in a lot of ways they motivate me to do great, to give my best effort, and to work hard. If it werent for my beliefs, my life would be meaningless, and all of m y hard work would be pointless. One of these beliefs that inspire me is love. I believe love is the most powerful thing in the world. Love binds and unites everyone, for it is what all of us have in common. It is the sole reason why we do what we do, and we care for who we care for. It exists because we feel it, may it be towards another person or a material. Whichever we feel it for, it is the same; it only differs by how much love we give. We live because of our parents love for us. We make it through our problems because someone loves us, helps us, and stays with us until we get through it. We make it through one day, may it be simple or stressful, because someone above loves us and guides us through whatever we encounter every day. Another belief is marriage. I believe that the vows we say in marriage are documented in Heaven, for we promise it in front of God. Marriage exists because we love a person, because we want to prove our love to that person and to everyone else, and because we want to make our love stronger. Our parents got married and vowed in front of God because they love each other and they want to prove it to their family, friends, and most especially, to us. My last strongly-held belief is the power of optimism. I believe that being positive helps a person succeed in a lot of things. Being optimistic is when we get rid of our negative thoughts and do what we want because we believe that, in the end, whatever happens, we will end up

happy and contented. Being positive will make our dreams feasible, our goals achievable, and our wishes possible. The most successful and happiest people in the world are successful because they were optimistic, because they believed they can achieve their dreams and they can be whatever they imagine their selves to be. A doctor became a doctor because he believed in himself he believed he is capable and he removed his thought of never becoming one. A lawyer became a lawyer, not because he filled his mind with thoughts that he wont pass the bar exam, but because he believe hed pass and own a law firm afterwards. Optimism opens a lot of door for us it gives us a lot of opportunities that will eventually lead us to that bright future God has set for us. In this assignment, we were asked to criticize our beliefs. My first belief, love, is unreal for some people. It doesnt exist because if it does, why would people hurt the one they love? Children of separated couples find it hard to believe that love exists, because it didnt between their parents. If love is real, immorality wouldnt exist, the world would have been in peace, and lower society wouldnt be striving for equality. Marriage doesnt exist as well, because if it does, divorce and annulment wouldnt exist. If marriage is as strong as we think it is because we do it in front of God, why do couples fight, hurt each other, and end up separating for good? If there really is such thing as marriage, children of divorced couples wouldnt have a hard time believing love exists; they wouldnt question it. My last belief, the power of optimism, is the most questionable of all three. If being positive is really powerful and motivates us to be better, no one would fail and give up in life. No one would think of suicide because at first they believed but then their thoughts failed them. No one would feel that they are worthless because they didnt succeed. No one would give-up in life because they didnt achieved their dreams.
