INTRODUCTION
An organization is a structure or machinery manned by group of individuals who are working together towards a common goal. An Organization study is a program which involves the study of the structure and the functioning of its various departments. Organization is the foundation upon which the whole structure of management is built. So the organization study is important for future managers\ For future managers it is imperative to study the organizational structure and functioning of successful organizations so that they may be able to guide their organization to success and profitable functioning in future The report is based on the organization study conducted in Consolidated Thermoplastic Products (p) Ltd situated at Udayamperoor in Ernakulum. The company produces plastic cabinet for stabilizers of V-GUARD and has been successful for the past 20 years

COMPANY PROFILE
Consolidated Thermoplastic Products (p) Ltd is an ISO Certified private company engaged in the manufacture of injection moulded thermoplastic products located at Udayamperoor in Ernakulam District in Kerala. The production of the company was started in the year 1983. The company managed by a group of technocrats with considerable experience in industry. it has plant in palakkad and is now thinking of expansion The company has a product line of 2 types of plastic products. The State Bank of India provided the finance in the company. During the time company have increase their shares. During the short span of its existence Consolidated Thermo Plastic product has been able to contribute significantly to the advancement and popularization of plastic

General Information
The company has 11 shareholders, Board of directors include 5 members, Then there is the managing director, factory manager. Under factory manager there is accounts officer, shift supervisor, commercial officer, operators and packing assistants. The company had an annual turnover of Rs 3.6 crore during the last financial year with profit around 18 lakh. Company currently has 3 PLC machines, 1 grinder for production. 1st PLC -1997(15 lakh) 2nd PLC-2007(21 lakh) 3rd PLC-2010(36 lakh)

INDUSTRY PROFILE
There is no competition in the market because CTP Ltd is the sole producers of plastic cabinet for VGUARD. There may be other companies which are producing plastic products using ABS. On the basis of our study we dont see any chance of V-GUARD giving contract to other companies as the CTP Ltd produce products which are high in qulaity

PRODUCT PROFILE
Injection Molders of Thermoplastic products have past 25 years successful operation in the field. The company is in the small scale sector located in the suburbs of Cochin. The company has been supplying plastic products to V-GUARD Industries Ltd. Who are reputed for quality products for the past many years. The company produces Plastic cabinet for voltage stabilizers using ABS as raw material The company managed by well experienced professional managers. As far as technical skill is concerned, the company has a pool of well qualified and experienced personnel capable of tackling all problems in production. Quality is prime consideration of the company and there is no compromise on it. In order to achieve the best quality of products, the machinery and equipments are kept up in best operating condition at all times. Regarding manufacturing capacity can mould up to 270 grams weight in Cochin plant and 400 grams weight in Palakkad plant. The molding machines are well supported by accessories of the company. In order to meet supply schedule without failure company have a Generator of 100KVA at Ernakulum and 82KVA at Palakkad unit.

FUNCTIONAL DEPARTMENTS
There are 5 departments under the control of the Factory Manager, they are; Human Resource Department Purchase Department Production Department Sales Department Finance Department

Human Resource Department

Managing human resource is very important in success of a company and CTP has been doing this efficiently for the past 25 years There are 35 employees working under 3 shifts and various seminars, assignments and training programs are conducted for newly appointed employees Financial and non-financial incentives like medical facilities, gratuity, bonus, housing, allowance are provided; P.F is fixed at 10% basic salary.

Purchase Department
It is mainly responsible for purchase activities. The department assesses the capability `of supplier to supply products of required quality and quantity. Factory manager is the head of purchase department. Purchases are made from approved suppliers. This department checks the availability of raw materials and places the orders to the supplier so that there will be no irregularities during the production. The company is purchasing 200 tons of raw materials per year. Factory manager and two other staffs are concerned with the purchasing process. Production department have separate stores areas for raw materials work in progress, finished goods, and certified products. These materials are stores inside the stores department and materials are provided for day to day requirements. The current suppliers are Bhansali Engineering Polymers(Rajasthan) and styrolusion(rajasthan,gujarat)

Production Department
The company mainly deals with the production plastic cabinet for voltage stabilizers for 4 models. The raw material used for production is polypropylene and ABS which are high in quality. The Cost of ABS is rs 170/kg which is high compared with other plastics. A machine called Program logic control (PLC) is used for the production. This department is responsible for handling any problems related to the production process and maintains the ISI quality formalities of their products. Currently the company has 3 PLCs .A Mould is put inside the machine to obtain the desired shape. Water is also used for production. From the finished goods those products having any damage or waste is then put into grinder after that it is again used so there is no wastage. Finished goods are the put forward for inspection and packing. The production capacity is 9000 unit/day. Around 15 tonne of raw material is required per month for the production

FINANCE DEPARTMENT
The finance department headed by factory manager provides various financial information to the management for taking decision. SBI provides working capital and loans for purchasing machinery

SALES DEPARTMENT
Sales department also managed by factory manager is concerned with sales activity. Sales activities are limited since the company is supplying its product only to V-GUARD. Company supplies finished goods to different plants of V-GUARD in south India. The main part of revenue comes from Tamil nadu. Company is thinking to produce new products which can be supplied in market. Company is not engaged in the direct marketing of products manufactured. Complaints from customer through any means are immediately acknowledged and is recorded after that immediate action is taken to resolve the customer complaint

LEARNING EXPERIENCE
The Organization study helped me a lot to gain knowledge about the management of an organization. The factory manager Mr. Radhakrishnan was so helpful he shared his knowledge about the company and his experience in the management field which was very informative and will definitely be helpful in the future. The other employees of the organization also guided as in his absence We have understood that each functional department is clearly dependent and co-exists with each other. Each department has a set of specific goals and tasks which when accomplished harmoniously with each other makes CTP Ltd a success According to our study the only drawback we found is the company doesnt have separate manager for each department. The factory manager is the one who is controlling all the departments which he may not able to do successfully due to certain limitations and this may affect companys progress in future

CONCLUSION
The company has made significant progress since its establishment in the year 1983. The company has been only concentrating on producing plastic cabinets for stabilizers. But now they are thinking of new plant where they can produce different products for the market. The long contract agreement they are having with V-guard is a proof for the quality of products they are having. They dont have any other competitors in the market The company is expected to grow more in the coming years which would be great for the management and employees working there. The findings of study show that company is successful in all departments and is expected to continue that in coming years
