long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. According to Ms. Vonthron, losing your hair due to illness is truly devastating. I have been in treatment for cancer for over four years and have lost my hair three separate times. Each time my hair fell out, it was more devastating than the last. For me, the hardest part of having cancer is everyone knowing that my body is fighting a serious illness and therefore people may look at me or treat me differently. From talking with others who share my experience, I have found that I am not alone and many share these feelings. Without hair, a serious health challenge is

If you have ever been to a Huron Tiger football game, you will recognize the familiar H-team red and gray flag that leads the players onto the field. What you may not know about that flag, however, is that it currently resides in Afghanistan, providing several members of the US Army a memory of home. This Fourth of July, while many of us were trying to decide if the rain would hold off for a picnic or where to watch fireworks, this flag was raised and held by Captain Jeffrey Sowecke, Commander of Delta Company, 6th Squadron, 8th U.S. Cavalry Regiment and several of his fellow soldiers. The next time you see this flag at a football game, please let it serve as a reminder to thank those who serve our country, our state, and our city, each and every day. A special Fourth of July greeting to all of my friends and family back in Huron, Ohio! This flag has enjoyed its time over here and will soon be heading home. Thanks for your continued support! To everyone else, enjoy this great day!!

EHOVES Electrical Tech program received a very generous donation of tool kits from Wolf Bros. Supply in Sandusky and Greenlee Tools. Electrical Tech instructor, Chuck Oeder, is very impressed by the donation. Thousands of dollars worth of tools were donated to my Electrical Tech program. This is amazing in todays economy to receive donations from businesses to help with students education, said Oeder. Bill Porter from Wolff Bros. Supply in Sandusky Ohio helped start the Klein Tool program back in 1999. Klein has provided a Electricians Tool kit worth over $250 to the top Electrical Tech senior every year. This years recipient was Tony Wampler (Western Reserve HS).Greenlee Tools representatives Blake George and Travis Zook also awarded valuable tool kits to two deserving Electrical Tech students, Wyatt Dye (St. Mary Central Catholic) and Josh Rohrbacher (Perkins HS). The students who received the awards this year are all part of EHOVEs Summer Jumpstart Program (summer internship/on-the-job work experience): Dye at Satellite Electric in Vermilion, Rohrbacher at Firelands Electric in Sandusky and Wampler at Kalahari Resort. Feb 12, 1951 - Jul 2, 2013 Carr Boucher Pete Dix, 62, of Huron, was surrounded by family as he died peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, July 2, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center. After a long battle with emphysema, Pete can finally breathe easily again. Pete was born on Feb. 12, 1951, in Columbus, to Carr Eugene and Helen (Boucher) Dix. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1969 where he was a member of the state championship football team. Most of his working career was in sales to the railroad industry through Buckeye Steel Castings and Transco Railway Products. Petes first love was fishing and his Lake Erie charter business, Dixie Jean Charters, was his favorite job. NO NEED to SACRIFICE!!
Right-sizing done in style at The Sanctuary at Plum Brook
Purchasing a new home to right size your familys needs could mean sacrificing your quality of life. At EPCON Communities, The Sanctuary at Plum Brook, right sizing does NOT mean sacrificing. The Sanctuary offers a wide array of home options that will fit your new lifestyle, and if you need extra space for additional family members, or simply room to stretch out, The Sanctuary can deliver. The Sanctuarys homes are built with high-quality, natural materials that minimize maintenance. Options include spacious enclosed patios, optional screened in porches, four season rooms, and also second floor bonus rooms than can add an additional 770 square feet of living space. Homes are designed to meet the changing needs of buyers and are proving to be very popular with owners who say that their right-sizing experience has improved their lifestyle, not compromised it! Jim and Eileen Elliott say they absolutely LOVE their new home! We had a large home which was very high maintenance and very time consuming. We discussed downsizing, but never found anything to our liking until we came to The Sanctuary, Eileen said. The Sanctuary offers something for everyone with homes ranging from 1519 to 2769 square feet, plus optional upstairs bonus suites. Epcon designs make the homes feel larger than the square footage reflects. Eileen goes on to say, we have never regretted one moment of moving to this friendly and welcoming community. Nestled in a tranquil setting, the charming European Country designed community offers plenty of green space, professionally landscaped grounds and picturesque ponds and fountains. Amenities include a professionally designed clubhouse with a large gathering area, TV, fireplace, pool table, fitness center and heated swimming pool. Put the mower and shovel away! The Sanctuary does the work; you do the living! They sell lifestyles, and oh yeah, a condo comes with it.
