Building Character: Than (clothes for their soul) To begin with it is essential to explain Who is Than? And what it is its importance in the Play?.Than is a character from the play Clothes for their souls, which play has a main character; called Anomaly who is in constantly interaction with the three voices that she sees, each of this three voices has a particular personality and relationship with the main character; therefore wants to impose its beliefs, wishes and own perspectives of life in Anomalys mind, so Anomaly is constantly in the struggle of which voice she should follow in order to take the best decision. 1.- Physical description and age. Than is explained as a voice, so she is supposed to not have got any physical appearance; since she is an abstract character; however, the main character Anomaly does see her as a living person and Anomaly is even capable of interact with her. Although Than appearance is not clearly stated in the play, it can be inferred, due to her personality, that she is quite tall, with a huge presence which make her almost impossible to not notice her. She also seems to have a really penetrating gaze that makes almost impossible to look away. In what refers to Thans age it has to be quite young as Anomaly is, but Than personality make her to be slightly older than the rest of the character; owing to her, awareness of life and singular points of view. 2.- Personality traits. Than has a very particular personality, she is very self-confident and authoritarian, she wants everybody else to do and to think that what she believes is the ultimately true and no one should discuss that. Than also keeps a distance from the other characters and that is why she takes an attitude of coldness, very determined and indifference with the real feelings of the people around her. 3.- Body and facial language. Than movements are rigid, slow and very confident, she has definitely features that represent high status; her posture is straight, shoulders and feet facing forwards which indicates that she has no fear of letting people looking at her. Her hands movements are strong in order to emphasize what she is saying. Her face also shows her personality, raised eyebrows and a constantly frowned are part of her look; moreover, when she disagree with an idea or definitely does not like the person with who is talking to, it can be clearly seen in her face.

4.- Revelations about his or her past. Than is one of the voices of Anomaly and as such, she has always be a part of her personality so who she was in the past is who she stills is now, She has not change a bit. She is the bad character and that is because it reflects Anomalys bad size, one that it is present in all of us. Than reflects the things that Anomaly has always wanted to do but that she should not do, she is anomalys inner desires which conflicting with what the society understand as adequate. 5.- Interaction with other characters. Than interaction with other characters is very consistent and what it is more, her relationship depends completely on how the rest of the characters see and understand Than. Anomaly seems to be always confused and in conflict, she is not sure whether believe in Than or not; Thus Than tries to make Anomaly trust in her but that does not mean that she does tell Anomaly when she is wrong because is not doing what she tells her to do. Voices; whether it is with Fate or Sophia, than does not change her attitude towards them, she does not like them so do as much as she can to make anomaly realised that both of them are wrong. Sophia is completely the opposite of what Than is and what she believes; consequently there is much more disgust and reluctance to agree at some point with her. Than want to destroy everybody who dare to disagree with her and especially Sophia. 6.- Prevailing linguistic characteristics, way of speaking. Than use of the language is quite sarcastic and satiric, he seems to laugh at people with the language and exaggerate a bit the tone of voice to give the message a tendency of irony; nevertheless than also says exactly what she thinks; she does not keep anything to herself. 7.- Favorite music. It can be depicts from her personality that Than enjoys music with strong beats, plenty of drums a very fast rhythm. Music that is mainly instrumental, with a minimum of lyrics in order to not interfere with her thoughts, Than needs music that can let her think on what to do next to make Anomaly trust in her. 8.- Special talents It is extremely difficult to describe Than talents, mainly because she is a very enigmatic and secretive character, she does not like to show her likes but owing to the fact that she enjoy being the bad apple and

also because of her personality. She seems the type of person who like reading and writing because first; she tends to over think what she says and does in order to success and accomplish the goals she set and second; because she needs to be very meticulous to make everybody else believe that she is right. She has to take care of every single detailed so nothing can go wrong.
