The sixth conference of the Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians held in Islamabad on 4th November 2012. The main agenda for the summit was the creation of a new development bank. The idea for setting [15] up such a bank was put forward by India, as a sign of firming the power of the group and increasing its influence in global decision-making BRICS, originally "BRIC" before the inclusion of South Africa in 2010, is the title of an association [2] of emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia,India, China and South Africa. With the possible [3] exception of Russia, the BRICS members are all developing or newly industrialised countries, but [4] they are distinguished by their large, fast-growing economies and significant influence on regional and global affairs.
