Just Around The Corner...

A Timely Reminder During one of our frequent phone calls, my 95-year-old mother related what had happened during the previous night. Shed awakened and glanced at the oversized digital clock on her nightstand. It read 3:16 a.m. Immediately her mind went to John 3:16, the Bibles most well-known verse. She lay back down and recited it from memory. She drifted back to sleep but awoke again momentarily. The clock read 3:20, so she thought of Jesus invitation in Revelation 3:20. Again, Mom fell asleep, only to awaken about an hour later. (The Spirit was active on this night!) It was 4:19, so she thought of a favorite verse: Philippians 4:19. Eventually she arose and started the new day with Gods Word ringing in her heart and mind. Mother has been a faithful student of Gods Word all her life. Now, as she draws closer to her departure on the Gloryland Express, that Word sustains her. Its her daily bread and her nightly portion mediated by an illuminated clock with bright red numerals. Dont Miss Your Chance to Bless and Be Blessed...The Needs are Many Prayer GUIDE for 60 Days of Passionate Prayer
36 Today, Lord, may our preayers create peace out of chaos, love out of hate, activity out of lethargy (Ethlene Boone Cox, Following in His Train, p. 125). 37 Father, give life to WMU minstries that bring wholeness to those whose lives are empty. Give them pure water, the touch of a nurses hand, help in gaining job skills, opportunities to serve where needed. 38 As those who serve on the national WMU staff go about their work today, Lord, provide them with all they need. 39 Lord, today connect us to our sisters around the world through prayer. Many find their daily lives difficult but joyful in You. Bring added joy and hope to them today. Enable them to find a role in missions that reflects Your work in them. 40 Father, You created all cultures and languages of the world. Today the US is a mixture of many of them. While many people in each cultural/ethnic group follow You, many do not. For those of other cultures who have no knowledge of You, I pray WMU members will cross cultural lines to share the truth of Christ. 41 Lord, allow others to realize they can never tell what those women might take to praying for if left alone (Century to Celebrate, p. 166). Give us courage to pray on. 42 Precious Father, I pray for the preschoolers (Mission Friends) in our churches and in our world. Guard them. Lead us to guide them to see and love the people of the world as You do. 43 Father, may our young girls (Girls in Action) grow strong hearts for missions. Keep them safe to serve You. 44 Lord, work in the hearts and lives of our young boys (Royal Ambassadors) that they will be strong in obeying You and strong in missions.
