ADMISSION NOTIFICATION FOR Ph.D.

PROGRAMME 2013 (S)

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. programme in various subjects. Admission will be made through entrance test and interview as per Ph.D. regulations of the university based on UGC regulation 2009. Syllabus: There will be objective type questions consistent with graduate level from General English, General Awareness, Reasoning and Mental Ability, Statistics and Computer Fundamentals. Scheme of Examination: There will be an objective type entrance test paper comprising of 5 sections viz. Section 1 :General English, Section 2: General Awareness, Section 3: Reasoning and Mental Ability, Section 4: Statistics, Section 5 : Computer Fundamentals . The paper will be of 3 hours duration carrying 100 marks. There will be no negative marking.

I. Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. admission: For full time scholars minimum eligibility:
(a) Masters Degree in relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate. (Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST and Physically handicapped candidates.) (b) Selection through entrance test and interview. At the time of interview, doctoral candidates are expected to discuss their research interests/areas. Applicants who have valid course Score of high level in any of the relevant National Eligibility Tests like JRF,GATE/NET of UGC/CSIR & SLET of the State, may be given preference as decided by the Dean of the concerned faculty.

For sponsored scholars, attached full time to Research Projects

(a) Masters Degree in relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate. (b) These candidates must have served with organization for minimum of 2 years on a full time basis. (c) Selection Through written test and/or interview. At the time of interview, Doctoral candidates are expected to discuss their research interests/areas. Ph.D. ENTRANCE TEST, 2013 (S) DATE: 27.04.2013, Saturday TIME: 10.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. CENTRE: Examination Hall, Jodhpur National University Campus. Additional Centre(s) if required may be established at the discretion of Honble Chairperson.

LAST DATE: Application form for Entrance Test 2013 (S), must be submitted to Registrar on or before 9th April, 2013, along with a D.D. for Rs. 1100/- towards application fee and D.D. for Rs. 5000/- towards processing fee payable at par at Jodhpur, in favour of Jodhpur National University. Applications received after 9th April, 2013 shall be considered on payment of late fee of Rs. 5000/- up to 15th April, 2013, from 16th to 22nd April with two times the late fee and with three times the late fee from 23rd to 26th April, 2013 at A-301, Anchal Complex, Residency Road, Jodhpur, 27 April, 2013 (up to 8:30 AM, at the Reception Counter near the Examination Hall). Application received after this date may be carried over to the entrance test Winter 2014 on the specific request of the applicants. Number of seats available, subject wise, in each faculty: Faculty of Engg. and Tech. 77 Seats (CSE 14, ECE 16, ELE- 13, Mech. Engg.- 11, Civil Engg.- 23) Faculty of Management - 20 Seats, Faculty of Computer Applications - 07 Seats, Faculty of Education- Phy. Edu.- 07, Edu. - 08 Seats, Faculty of Law - 05 Seats, Faculty of Arts 20 Seats, In case any recommendation of other faculties regarding availability of seats for Ph.D. Scholars and reduction or enhancement in the existing seats is communicated, the same will be notified at the time of admission of the candidates to the afore mentioned Ph.D. Programme.
