DESCRIPTION OF LOCAL AREA 1760 3rd Avenue Residence is a 18-story high-rise,newly renovated residence located on Manhattans Upper East Side. The residence is set just minutes away from the amazing Museum Mile, Central Park, Carl Shultz Park, and two blocks from the 96th St / Lexington Avenue subway station. Students staying in this area can savor the extraordinary affordable restaurants, retail stores, markets and cultural happenings all around. All rooms include air conditioning/heating, a refrigerator, microwave, private bathroom, cable TV, LCD TV, Wi-Fi access, and high-speed internet service in rooms for students who have their laptops. Linen will be provided but students should bring their own towels. Common areas are cleaned by 1760 3rd Avenue staff, however, students are responsible for cleaning their own bedrooms and bathrooms. AIRPORT PICK-UP If you requested airport pick up, you will see drivers waiting with a sign just outside immigration. Look for a driver holding an EC sign with your first and last name. If you are arriving on an international flight, the driver will be outside immigration and customs. If you are arriving on a domestic flight, the driver will meet you in baggage claim. If you do not see your driver, call +1 347 567 3543.

IF YOU DID NOT REQUEST AN AIRPORT PICK-UP, YOU HAVE SEVERAL WAY TO GET TO YOUR RESIDENCE Taxi: Go to the taxi stand outside, and tell the driver that you are going to 3rd Ave. between 97th St. and 98th St. in Manhattan. (The address is: 1760 3rd Ave.) AirTrain: Take the Jamaica Station/Sutphin Line to Jamaica Station/Sutphin Transfer to the E train headed toward Manhattan and get off at Lexington Ave./53rd St. At 53rd St. transfer to the Uptown 6 train. Take the 6 train to 96th St., and get off the train and walk east on 96th St. (walk toward 3rd Ave.) When you get to 3rd Ave., turn left.1760 3rd Ave. will be on your left between 97th and 98th St. Express Bus: Take the Express bus from JFK Airport to Grand Central At Grand Central, take the 6 train uptown to 96th St. Get off the train at 96th St., and walk east toward 3rd Ave. When you get to 3rd Ave., turn left. 1760 3rd Ave. will be on your left between 97th and 98th St.

JOURNEY TO SCHOOL The easiest way to get to school is by subway. The residence is a 25 minute subway commute from the school. Students can purchase for $29.00 a 7-day Unlimited Ride Metro Card from Subway Station Booths or Metro Card Vending Machines (prices may vary). EC New York (Times Square Center). Subway: Take the 6 train from 96th St./Lexington Ave to 59th St./Lexington Ave. Transfer and take the N, Q, or R train from 59th St./Lexington Ave. to 42nd St./Times Square. or Take the 6 train from 96th St./Lexington Ave to 42nd St./Grand Central Walk West on 42nd Street from Grand Central station to Broadway Turn left on Broadway and walk 1 street to 41st Street

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS When you arrive at 1760 3rd Ave., please tell the security guard that you are checking in. You will then have to do some paperwork before you receive your key.

NOTES No smoking is permitted in the residence Unlimited free local phone service available for all students A refundable damage deposit of $150 will be collected on first day at school. This will be returned during check out if there were no damages. Kitchen supplies are not provided and can be purchased inexpensively nearby. Some kitchen supplies may be available at the school for a small deposit. Supplies include saut pans, pots, can openers, spatulas, wooden spoons, & mesh strainers. It is the students responsibility to purchase cups, plates, forks, knives, and spoons. In order to be refunded the deposit, any supplies lent out must be returned clean and in the same condition that the student received it.
