Insufficient lactation MP for insufficient lactation, whether from insufficiency of Qi and blood or constrained LV Qi. If Mastitis no result try using stronger stimulation. The SI Swollen breasts separates the pure from the impure, when working Pterygium (membrane over the eye) properly the fluids are separated efficiently and Apoplectic coma (loss of smoothly discharged through urination. When consciousness after a stroke) working less efficiently, less fluid is extracted and more is retained. If SI1 is tonified more fluid goes downward, if sedated more goes upward to become milk. MP for breast disorders w/ heat, inflammation, stagnation, for mastitis, breast abscess, cysts Jing Well, clears heat from opposite end of channel, for eye redness and pain, earache, tinnitus, sore throat, stiff tongue, mouth ulcers, inflammation of mucous membranes. May be useful for migraines, occipital headache, disorders of the salivary glands.

DISCUSSION
Master Point of GV, affects both its inner and outer pathways, for vertex, occiput, posterior neck, spine, low back MP for myofascial meridan disorders affecting the taiyang channels (SI/BL) and the GV. For pain in the scapula, shoulder, arm, hand, combine w/ local channel points (SI9-SI13) to relax and increase circulation to the lateral rotators of the shoulder: the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor and posterior deltoid. On the arm and hand, this channel traverses the long head of the triceps, extensor carpi ulnaris, and the soft tissue of the ulnar aspect of the wrist and hand. For stiff neck, cervical strain/sprain, pain of the back or spine, often combined with BL10, BL11, BL12, GB20, GB21, Bailao, SI12, BL60. For whiplash combine SI3, BL62 to treat the spine (GV and Yang Qiao vessels), with TW5, GB41 to treat the posterolateral musculature (Yang Wei and Dai vessels). These 4 points are a powerful balancing and antispasmodic treatment. MP for occipital h/a from stress, muscles tension, eye strain, combines well with local points such as BL10, GB20 and BL60. IP for breast problems, swelling, mastitis, abscess. Palpate SI3 area with a Q-tip for the most tender point and needle. Combines well with SI1, SI11, ST39 and Ll8. Good channel point for shoulder, arm, wrist and hand pain, most effective for pain, cramping, stiffness of the hand.

LOCATION

DISCUSSION
Special point for treating the elderly, deafness, tinnitus, failing vision, neck, shoulder, and arm pain and stiffness For overwork, overstrain, to support fatigue, weakness of the extremities, inability to lift arm, upper limb arthralgia (pain so severe it feels broken) Good point for acute myofascial pain and trauma affecting the taiyang channels, for acute low back sprain, whiplash, cervical strain, spasm of the paravertebral muscles. Use strong stimulation. Luo-connecting point with paired HT channel, to calm and strengthen the spirit, for anxiety, depression, stress, irritability, restlessness, fear and fright, especially with tightness of the neck, upper back, upper trapezius muscles. Combines well with HT source point HT7.

Posterior shoulder and scapula pain Frozen shoulder Hemiplegia Soreness & lack of strength in arm

Mainly used for posterior shoulder pain or stiffness, especially involving the teres major muscle, one of whose trigger points lies beneath SI9. Teres major trigger points refer to the posterior shoulder and dorsal forearm. Combines well in shoulder treatments w/SI10, LI16, LI15, Jianqian (in a saggital plane w/HT1, between the clavicular and sternal heads of the pectoralis major muscle), these points encircle the shoulder. For posterior shoulder pain involving the infraspinatus tendon and posterior deltoid.

Unbinds the chest Good point for breast problems, mastitis, insufficient lactation, breast pain. May reflect the breast like a Benefits the breast and promotes front-mu point area, palpate entire infrascapular fossa lactation for tenderness, upper fossa reflects upper breast (ST16 Pain and swelling in the scapula and area), lower fossa reflects lower breast (ST18 area), shoulder medial and lateral also correspond. Massage or needle Breast problems tender areas, combine with other breast points such as Mastitis SI1, SI3, PC6, PC8, ST16, ST18, ST36, CV17. Insufficient lactation IP for shoulder and upper back pain and stiffness. Releasing the infraspinatus muscle is very good for neck pain, perhaps by allowing the scapula to move more freely into adduction, thereby relaxing tension on the trapezius, rhomboids, and levator scapula. Scapula, shoulder, upper limb pain IP for tension in the trapezius and supraspinatus or numbness muscles. A supraspinatus trigger point lies under this point, deep to the upper trapezius, which refers to the Supraspinatus tendinitis lateral aspect of the shoulder and elbow. Good wind point, used locally or for wandering bi of the upper limb (pain that moves around).
