FIVE KEYS TO A BETTER PRAYER LIFE

Prayer is our time out from the busyness of life to reflect on our deeper needs and desires. Pray as you can, and do not pray as you cant. Take yourself as you find yourself; start from that. Whether its not feeling like praying, being depressed or worried about something or very busy or very happy about something. Wherever we find ourselves today, we start our prayer from there. We pray to love Someone. We also pray to become Someone: the person God is calling us to be. Ordinarily we become that person not by dramatic leaps and bounds, but rather by barely noticeable baby steps. If we persevere in prayer, that in itself is a wonderful grace. Prayer is not an end in itself. It is only a means to an end. The end of prayer is love of God and the fulfilling of Gods will. The end is the meeting of two loves.

Our babies have been in the womb for 14 weeks! Crown to rump length is about 4, weight is 2.8 oz. Fine lanugo hair is covering the little ones body and head. Interesting note: oxygen gets into the babys blood by action of the placenta rather than in the babys lungs. How incredibly perfect is the manner in which our Almighty God planned for our bodies to function. Pray that these little ones formed in Gods image and likeness will be allowed to be born and to come to know and love Him who is Love and our Perfect Everything.

NOTES FROM OUR SEMINARIAN MARK MURPHY Hello Archangels Catholic Cluster! My name is Mark Murphy and I am a seminarian studying for the priesthood for service in our archdiocese. I am originally from Marion, Iowa, where I was the youngest of three children. I graduated from Regis High School in Cedar Rapids in 1998 and went on to graduate from Iowa State University in 2002. It was at Iowa State where I first felt a strong pull on my heart from God towards seminary and priesthood. However, after college I served in the Navy for five years until I finally entered seminary at Loras College in 2008. After two years at Loras, I went to the North American College in Rome where I recently finished my third year of theology studies. I hope to be ordained to the priesthood upon completion of my fourth year of theology. I am grateful for you welcoming me into your community this summer, allowing me to be formed by you and to pray with you. solace to parishioners in need. Our goal is that those experiencing grief or a serious illness and are in need of solace feel the warmth of friends and church family members.
