Extract from FSTEP Industry Survey: Financial Institutions Prefer FSTEP Graduates
A study was commissioned by Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (FSTEP) in 2012 to assess the performance of its graduates from 2009 to 2012 at their work places as compared to graduates who were directly recruited by the respective nancial institutions. The questionnaire survey was designed and processed independently by two senior lecturers from a university.
From the ndings, it is concluded that:FSTEP graduates performed distinctly better and met the needs of the employers. The employers prefer FSTEP graduates as compared to the graduates directly recruited by the nancial institutions. FSTEP programme is e ective in preparing entry level executives for their career lives in the nancial services industry by inculcating good working attitudes, behaviors and related soft skills. The employers have agreed UNANIMOUSLY that they are satis ed with FSTEP graduates as none of the employers has indicated otherwise from the survey.
