Faux Real - a collection of works by contemporary artists who mimic reality with a playful twist, in the process raising questions of authenticity and duplication. Often using off-beat materials, and showing a sly sense of humor, they take as their subject-matter items that anyone might pass over without a second thought, such as food, furniture, or domestic knick-knacks. By turning the ordinary into art, they get us to think about how things are made, what they are made from, and how we see them in our everyday experience. John Mason Blue Wall Blue Wall is the culmination of a period of large-scale sculptural work beginning in 1957. It is now regarded as a landmark in the history of ceramic art and a masterpiece of Abstract Expressionism. Exceptional Fine Art by 125 artists. Fine Dining. Live Entertainment. Celebrating 47 years! Open daily SunThurs. 10am-9pm and Fri-Sat. 10am-10pm. Adults $7.00, Seniors (60+), military & students $4.00, children 12 & under free with adult. Experience 200 local artists. In this workshop we will create unique and striking pieces by pouring molten silver into water. This technique will allow students to create beautiful abstract forms that can range from button or pearl-like shapes to dynamic splashes of silver. Each student will have the opportunity to explore varied ways of melting and pouring in order to achieve the desired result, and will come away with a pair of dazzling earrings and/or a completely one of a kind pendant. Please note: students 18 years or older; closed toe shoes/no open-toed sandals; and feel free to bring your own silver and gold to melt. 2pm-4pm. Cost $95.
