HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 34-36; Romans 4 Monday, July 22 Heb. 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Dear Savior and Sovereign Lord: Angels: are they not unseen attendants of the saints? When we have so much of Satan and demons surrounding us, do you not protect your own interests? It is said of the Lord Jesus that Psa. 91:12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. And surely, loyalty to their Lord leads angels to pay attention to the children that he loves. How so? They rejoice in the return of the prodigal to his fathers house (Luke 15:10). They welcome the arrival of the believer to the Kings palace above (Luke 16:22). Back in the Bible day, believers were favored with the visible appearance of angels. Now we live in a day of faith and not sight. But heaven is still open! And the angels of God visit the heirs of salvation to ensure Heavens will is accomplished even in the midst of hellish circumstances. Glory! Seraphim, fly with live coals from the altar to touch my lips to witness to __________ and to __________! If their eyes could but be opened they would see an innumerable company of angels, and how well-defended they could be if they would but trust in Jesusdefended from deception and the demonic. Through you Lord, I am made to sit in heavenly places. I have a spiritual life far above all earthly principalities and powers. You encamp around my physical life to surround it with strength and protecting love until such time you deem fit for me to leave here. All hail Jesus! Angel of the Lord! To you I offer my life, my soul, my strength, my all. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 43-45; Romans 7 Thursday, July 25 John 1:41-42 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS TEACHING Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 37-39; Romans 5 Tuesday, July 23 John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Lord and Maker: I am yours Lord, and do not belong to the world. This is my summer stance. I give myself to you and give myself away from sin. I renounce the world as my reward, and choose the Son instead. I renounce all other saviors, and all my own ceremonies and good works as the foundation for righteousness. My interest in the favor of God is solely through Jesus Christ. I renounce my own strength as the ground of my hope. My understanding is ignorant, my will is weak, and my affections are insufficient to carry me to heaven. I now again renounce dependence on them all, so I can receive greater light and strength and love from God alone. Gal. 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am mortified to sin and crucified to the world. By the cross of Jesus Christ my Savior I bid Satan get behind me; I renounce him and his works. I will neither fear him nor love him, nor lay a confederacy with the men of this world, for I love my God, I fear my God, and in my God is my eternal help and hope! Hosea 14:8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? This summer I resolve to banish from my sight the objects that tempt me. I thus abandon anything that would divide me from God, to whom I have made a surrender of myself. And should you scourge and correct me, O God, I submit to your hand. Should you deny any particular request I present, I trust you to choose better than I. And because I know my own foolish heart, I humbly put all these vows into the hands of my Lord Jesus, to fulfill them in me and by me through me all the days of this year. To Jesus I retreat. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 46-48; Romans 8 Friday, July 26 Deut. 28:5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. To Thee O Heavenly Father: Help us understand how obedience brings a blessing on all the provision that our planning and productivity earns. That which comes in and immediately goes back out (like fruit in the basket) is blest. That which is laid beside us for a longer season (in store) equally receives a blessing. Maybe all we have this week is a hand-basket portion. We have enough for breakfast and a small bite for lunch. Thats okay, because the blessing of God is promised for our lunch pail. If we live from hand to mouth, and paycheck to paycheckgetting each days supply the day it comeswe are as well off as Israel, because when you fed them you only gave them one days manna at a time. Thats what enables us to trust you for provision in the mission. What more do we need today than what you bless us to have? And if we have a storehouse of treasures, how much more do we need you to bless it! There is the worry of getting it, and the worry of keeping it, and the worry of managing it, and the worry of using it. So Lord, unless you bless it, those worries will eat into our hearts and steal away our joy, until our goods become gods, and our cares turn into cancers! 1 Tim. 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; Lord, bless our substance. Enable us to use it all to accomplish your mission. Help us keep worldly things in their proper perspective. And never may our savings endanger the saving of souls. To lay aside in store is justified, but to worry over needs not here yet is not. Grant us true contentment in your blessing on our provision, for so we ask in Jesus name. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 40-42; Romans 6 Wednesday, July 24 Rom. 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Holy Father and Gracious Lord: Make me dead to sin. Cleanse me by the blood of Jesus, for all those ways I sin against your infinite holiness. Fill me and lead me by your Holy Spirit, because this is true revival. Likewise may this prayer apply to every member of Harvest. Give me the grace right now to consider myself dead indeed unto sin and alive unto you. It can only be so through Jesus Christ! Col. 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Shout in the ear of Satan your ownership over me, and the fact you sent the Lord Jesus Christ to expose him and all his demons as empty, shattered, and defeated in Jesus own triumphant victory on the cross. Give me eyes to see the excellencies of Christ today, and then let me exchange all that I am for all that he is, because this is true revival. Rom. 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, Col. 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Psa. 119:38 Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. Further, O Father, may my roots, and the roots of all those who are yours, go down deep into the soil of your marvelous word. May the power of your Holy Spirit, working through us, accomplish more than we could ask, think or imagine. Do it even today, because this is true revival, in Jesus dear name. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 49-51; Romans 9 Saturday, July 27 Psa. 111:1 Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. Lord and Redeemer: Let me now put away all doubt, questions and complaining (for they are really all rebellion) and give myself to praising you both with my life as well as my lips. The best way to make my witness effective to the unsaved is to give people an example of a saved life. If I do not set a good example, then I become a leader in teaching others to do badly. David brought you nothing less than his whole heart. All his love went out to you, and his zeal, skill and fervency went with it. Likewise, I cannot praise you acceptably if I have divided affections. What (or who) is distracting me and pulling my heart away from you right now? My all is so small, that it dishonors you for me to give any less. Since all your works are praiseworthy, I need to adore you with all my being. Make it so, Jesus! Praise is always proper, and my heart needs to be ready for a hallelujah any time and in every place. Psa. 111:2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. Your works are all great in design, in size, in number, and in excellence. Even your little things are great. Each of the productions of your power and works of your wisdom are great to the wise in heart. I love you, so I absolutely delight in what you have done. I recognize there is more to it than what meets the eye. Help me study and understand everything, especially the painful parts. Like the biologist ransacks nature, and the historian pries into hidden facts and mysteries, so help me dig into the mine of scripture to store up precious gems of truth. Do it for Jesus sake. Amen.

COME, we that love the Lord, and let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord, and thus surround the throne. The sorrows of the mind be banished from the place; Religion never was designed to make our pleasures less. Let those refuse to sing, who never knew our God; But children of the heavnly King may speak their joys abroad. The men of grace have found glory begun below; Celestial fruits on earthly ground from faith and hope may grow. The hill of Zion yields a thousand sacred sweets Before we reach the heavnly fields, or walk the golden streets. Then let our songs abound, and every tear be dry; Were marching through Immanuels ground to fairer worlds on high. Were marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion; Were marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God. Isaac Watts, 1707

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

SUNDAY AUG 4 TH

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
