Claim that the detainees don't have an adequate judicial process but this is not the case.

Many would say detainees are given an insufficient review of files and that the charges being filed against them are sometimes unknown, but this is not the case . *ALL detainees are each given a copy of their charges in their native language s o they are fully aware of their charges. *EVERY Year all detainees files are reviewed by military boards, in addition, de tainees are assigned advocates to help argue their cases and this provides them sufficient review processes. *Dick Cheney said on an interview with larry king in 2008: "once you go out and capture a bunch of terrorists, as we did in Afghanistan and elsewhere then you have got to have some where to put them." If you bring foreigners to America for trials, they are part of our judicial sys tem. They are then entitled to all kinds of rights we only extend to Americans. As you know our judicial system already has flaws as it is. OJ Simpson, Casey An thony, etc. We can't be too generous when dealing with terrorists. *Legally it is fair to hold an enemy combat without charge or trial under the mi litary order initiated in november 2001, but many times detainees are still give n lawyers and advocates to make it fair. in 2009 Obama promised the USA to close down Guantanamo Bay. It was a promise th at surprisingly many Americans looked forward to. But the reality of the matter is closing down Guantanamo bay is NOT an easy thing to do. All detainees must be prosecuted, and its a very long and c omplicated process. If it were so easy to close, don't you think he would've don e it already. We are simply not ready to close it. Our ties with Afghanistan, Pakistan aren't in a good position. One wrong move or change could mean lots of fatalities for us.

If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medic al care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom. Our opponents claim that the detainees live in horrible conditions. That is simp ly not the case. As a matter of fact, *Conditions in guantanamo bay were improved drastically in bush's second term *This was because of everyone's hostility and negativity toward Guantanamo bay. If something is being improved upon, why would you want to condemn it? Another reason conditions are improving is the fact that the number of detainees have been reduced by 60%. according to the new york times *Originally there was 800 people there.. so that would make for about 320 people currently there. *Obviously the less people there will make for better conditions; more room/more food etc. Closing Guantanamo bay would return its detainees back to their native countries . Does that sound like a good idea? Letting 320 of the worlds most dangerous humans linger all around the world. 320 osama b

in ladins all over the planet. The inmates have well stocked libraries, gyms, and soccer fields now. Their cond itions are better then ever. People need understand, these people are terrorists we are dealing with. We aren 't dealing with the care of the queen of England. We are dealing with the care of terrorists. There shouldn't be any luxurious acc omodations at all. In Closing The detainees NEED to be there. People who want to bomb and kill people have men tal problems. Mass shootings and bombing are becoming more and more well-known i n America and all around the world Every day we hear about shootings in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. and americans dying . No one really cares about where these villains go, until one of their own gets effected. I don't know about you, but I see no problem. Detainees have access to their charges, their charges get reviewed and altered ever year, they get meals, library use, out door recreation, and the company of other detai nees. The only thing they get temporairly suspended is their freedom. Freedom is a right, but it can be taken from you. But the question I leave you with is, would you feel safer knowing the 300 of th e worst criminals are contained in the most protected and isolated prision, then having them being scattered all around the world and back on our streets? You decide.
