1.0

SCOPE This document is a general guide for all AutoCAD users. It is designed to allow the creation of drawings that are consistent in quality and format. All drawings shall be legible under the intended conditions of use. It is the responsibility of the user to follow these guidelines. This document should be used unless a specific project document dictates otherwise.

2.0

DRAWING AND CAD REFERENCE DRAWINGS Drawing numbers and CAD reference numbers shall be in accordance with the SembCorp Simon-Carves (SSC) coding Manual. This can be found on the SSC Intranet, under Company Management System / Standards / Engineering / Company Coding Manual (Section 19 P&L).

3.0

FILING OF CAD DRAWINGS For consistency all AutoCAD drawings are to be saved in AutoCAD 2000 Format. All drawings shall be stored on the network, in the correct project directory and in the relevant sub-directories. Drawings MUST NOT be stored on local drives. Any drawing that has a revision change will be regarded as issued. If a drawing has been issued, a copy must be placed in the relevant revision folder, which should be a sub-folder of the relevant project folder. To ensure that only the latest version of any drawing is available for modification, revision folders will be made read only. Modifications will then be completed to the file in the project folder.

DRAWING SHEET SIZES The following table shows the recommended drawing sheet sizes from BSEN 61082.

Designation A0 A1 A2 A3 A4

Dimensions (mm) 1189 x 841 841 x 594 594 x 420 420 x 297 297 x 210

An SSC drawing frame for each size will be used via the appropriate template file and will not be modified unless agreed in advanced with CAD Development. Refer to Section 6 AutoCAD Drawing Standards. Sheet sizes used should be selected taking into account: Legibility The composition and complexity of the design The possibility of using a smaller sheet, but with a greater number of sheets The requirements of Computer Aided Design and Documentation The requirements of handling, copying, filing and other documentation processes.

DRAWING TEMPLATE FILES (.DWT) All new drawings are to be created using the appropriate drawing frame template. A template file will be made available for each size of drawing and where necessary Project Specific templates will be produced. Template files will contain the following default data and settings: Drawing Frames Layers Text Styles Dimension Styles Line Types

5.1.1

SSC-Template The SSC-Templates will contain all non-discipline specific settings, and will be used as the initial file for all discipline/project specific templates.

5.1.2

Drawing Frames A template for each size of drawing will be used (e.g. SSCSTANDARD-A0.dwt). For consistency, the drawing frame will always be placed at x=0, y=0. All drawing will be completed in Model Space and should be drawn full size (refer to Section 8 for exceptions) Drawing Limits should be set to suit the drawing frame being used. Title block information will be inserted using the attributes assigned to the drawing frame. Drawing frames and associated data blocks must not be exploded. A plot stamp will be placed on all drawings to identify the filename and location.

5.1.3

Layers Standard Layer names will be preceded with 0_ (zero). This will ensure that all standard layer names are displayed at the top of the layer listing. (The AutoCAD layer Defpoints is not included in this rule.) All items should be drawn on the correct designated layer. The preferred entity selection settings are :LINEWEIGHT set to DEFAULT LINETYPE set to BYLAYER COLOUR set to BYLAYER Only one line type should be used per layer. The number of layers and layer settings required will differ greatly depending upon the type of drawing being produced. Refer to the discipline standard (Section 2.0 of this document) for further details.

SECTION TITLE: 14.1.6 AutoCAD Drawing Standards Structuring and Layering of AutoCAD Drawings Folder Hierarchy All drawings that have been Issued/Superseded will be removed from the current status folder and stored in the appropriate sub-folder. 14.1.7 Symbol Libraries Only SSC Standard symbols (based on BS 1553) should always be used, unless the project indicates otherwise. CAD Development is responsible for the creation and maintenance of all symbol and symbol libraries. All symbols should be according to L502 unless the project dictates otherwise. Symbols should not be exploded, or changed in any way. Symbols should always be placed on the appropriate layer 14.1.8 Plotting To maintain symbol and text integrity and consistency, all plots should be produced Full Size. All plots should use the appropriate CTB file. A0.ctb A1.ctb A3.ctb Layout.ctb Colour.ctb For Monochrome A0 size plots. For Monochrome A1 size plots. For Monochrome A3 size plots. For Layout drawings with a feint background. For coloured plots (created as required). No. E123

The batch plotting facility is available and will use the appropriate ctb file as detailed above. 14.1.9 Pallets / Toolbars SSC Standard pallets/toolbars will contain standard commands. CAD Development is responsible for the creation and modification of these pallets/toolbars and these must not be modified in any way.

SECTION TITLE: AutoCAD Drawing Standards Structuring and Layering of AutoCAD Drawings Project Specific pallets/toolbars will contain project specific modifications/additions to the SSC Standard pallets/toolbars. CAD Development is responsible for the creation and modification of these pallets/toolbars and these must not be modified in any way. Users may create their own pallets/toolbars for their own use. CAD development is not responsible for these. IMPORTANT NOTE SSC and Project pallets/toolbars must take priority over user pallets/toolbars i.e if a command occurs on the SSC Standard and the User pallet, the SSC Standard must be used. No. E123

SECTION TITLE: 15.0 AutoCAD Drawing Standards Structuring and Layering of AutoCAD Drawings APPENDIX 4 No. E123

15.1

PLANT DESIGN

15.1.1

Scope This Appendix includes details for creating Mechanical and Piping drawings from within AutoCAD. It also includes recommended settings for models converted from a 3D modelling package (PDMS).

15.1.2

Draughting Procedures

Drawing limits to be set to the size of backing sheet e.g. A0 is 1189 x 841mm. Draw with Snap switched ON (should be set to an integer i.e. not 2.5). Draw with Ortho switched ON, Mirror text (Mirrtext) OFF and Blipmode OFF. Plot to Limits. Stamp office copies and file originals in accordance with D.O. Procedures. 15.1.3 Templates All drawings will be produced using the latest SSC Standard template SSC-MECHANICAL-PIPING.dwt. Where appropriate Project Specific templates will be produced by CAD Development. (Refer Section 5 AutoCAD Drawing Standards) 15.1.4 Drawing Scale All drawings are to be drawn full size. Drawings produced using scales are unacceptable. Scaling is to take place using the appropriate view ports and recommended scale ratios (Refer to Section 7 AutoCAD Drawing Standards).

15.1.5

Drawing Scale All drawings are to be drawn full size. Drawings produced using scales are unacceptable. Scaling is to take place using the appropriate view ports and recommended scale ratios (Refer to Section 7 AutoCAD Drawing Standards).

15.1.6

Layers The Simon Carves basic layers are not intended to cover those components that form the subject of the drawing; they only support its environment. Extra layers specific to the subject will need to be created such as, e.g., EQUIPMENT, STEELWORK, etc. Sub-division of Layers Where necessary, layer names may be sub-divided by further specifying the type of component held on them. This should be done by concatenating the relevant aspects of the components, in decreasing order of significance, using hyphens. The following is just a sample of possible layer names that could be produced this way:

EQUIPMENT EQUIPMENT-TEXT EQUIPMENT-DIMS EQUIPMENT-DIMS-DETAIL1 EQUIPMENT-DIMS-DETAIL2

SECTION TITLE: 15.1.7 AutoCAD Drawing Standards Structuring and Layering of AutoCAD Drawings Department prefixes. When there are more than one departments layers on a drawing ALL layers should be prefixed by a single character code. The code denotes which department is responsible for each layer. The code could also be used to identify Instrument and Electrical layers on a drawing e.g. E-RouteRef and I-RouteRef. No. E123

Prefix 0- (Zero) CEIPS-

Department General use, not reserved to any one department e.g. border layer Civil Electrical Instruments Plant Design Structural

15.1.9

Model Space/Paper Space Drawings may be produced using paper space in accordance with the following criteria: All dimensions, grid lines markers and any text on the model (i.e. Building titles etc) should be placed in model space. All general notes should be placed in paper space. The model should be, wherever possible, drawn at its correct site plan co-ordinate or level location relative to 0,0.

15.1.10

Imports From 3D Modeling Package (PDMS) The necessary views will be generated in PDMS and an appropriate DXF file will be made available. All DXF file must clearly display the following: The scale of the view. (Due to restrictions within PDMS, any DXF views created will need to be scaled. This scale will be clearly indicated on the drawing file e.g. Scale = 1:500. When imported into AutoCAD, the view should then be re-set to full size.) Fixed datum point at known co-ordinate. This should be clearly visible and accurate, as it will be used as the insertion point. Layer should be created within the DXF to conform as close as possible to the above layering structure. Line types used will be standard AutoCAD linetypes.
