TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

INDION Lamella Clarifier

Inclined plate clarifier Compact, modular, maintenance free Standard models to treat up to 2,000 ppm suspended solids and upto 650 m3/h flow rate Custom designed units to treat higher suspended solids and flow rates More than 100 installations in India and abroad

IEI

TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Achieves solid-liquid separation by directing the liquid between a series of inclined plates called lamellae Settles suspended solids by gravity Settling surface area of each plate is equivalent to its horizontal projection As lamellae are normally spaced approximately 50 mm apart, large settling surfaces are concentrated within a relatively small floor area Design ensures laminar, stable flow and excellent effluent quality

TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

FEATURES
Design Dual flow entry Gravity sludge removal No moving parts Compact (requires 1/10th space of a conventional clarifier)

IEI

TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

...FEATURES
Construction Plate configuration can be varied Ease of installation Volumetric savings - 1/10th of space of conventional units Bottom hopper configuration can be varied Single packaged unit with minimum civil work Maintenance On-line plate cleaning possible No moving parts, hence minimum maintenance

IEI

TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

ADVANTAGES
Over Clariflocculators Less floor space Easy capacity expansion No moving parts; energy saving and easy operation Flexibility - plate configuration can be varied to suit applications, changes in influent characteristics No downtime - plates can be cleaned while unit is in operation Negligible civil work - less time for construction Moveable

IEI

TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

...ADVANTAGES
Over Tube Settlers Can handle higher loads On-line cleaning possible whereas even off-line cleaning troublesome in tube settlers Settling area much less than in tube settler which requires larger space/increased size/more tubes Water entry from sides as against bottom - minimum distribution and entry velocities optimize hydraulic flow regime - full plate utilization, maximum efficiency and better effluent quality Consistency assured unlike distributed flow through the chamber in tube settler
