Junior Member Dairy farm - Cow Market Info

Join Date: Feb 2012 Posts: 4

Dear Friends, I am planing to start a dairy farm with 5 to 10 cows. I am looking for a Market place where i can find indigenous cow's. I dont want to go for exotic cows(cross breeds.. Jerssi, HF ) due to the less disease resistant, high maintenance .... etc. My Options are Karan Frie, Tharparkar, Sahiwal... All these indigenous cows are heat tolerant and very good disease resistant. Please let me know the details of Markets/individuals from TamilNadu, Karnataka and Andra. Thanks, Paran.

Hi. Do have a look for a Small Scale Dairy Farm Project Report as per NABARD guidelines which can be customized as per your needs i.e. you can change the number, milk yield & cost of animals, sale price of milk, bank loan rate, repayment period etc. and observe its impact on profitability in the spreadsheet. Many other Projects are also being developed for progressive farmers. Do let me know if any changes have to be made in the program.

Regards, Dr. Vivek Patil
