I have been capturing costs for financial reporting i.e. cost to date, including man days the cost to employ, subcontract packages cost to date, subcontractors costs to date, arranging for monthly applications to paid (from the client and to the subcontractor) In May 2004 my wife left me and the house was sold, I had gone straight from University to work and had not fulfilled my dream of backpacking. So I decide to go travelling, my first stop was India were I started in Goa and travelled down south to the Kerara, I then Journeyed to Myanmar (previously none as Burma) going up the river Kwai and then on in to Laos followed by northern Thailand, I found Thailand to be fascinating and spent nearly 6 months there, I visited to the cities of Chiang Rai and Thailand second city Chiang Mai, Bangkok and down to south were I stayed in Koh Samui, Krabi, Phuket and finally the Phi Phi island were the film The Beach featuring Leonardo DiCaprio was shoot and the famous James Bond island as featured in The Man with the golden Gun For the last month of my trip I journeyed down to Malaysia through Penang and Georgetown on my way to Kuala Lumpar before finally heading back to the UK March 2003 May 2004 Interserve on short term contract as a projects Design engineer working under the KMI frame work on Prescott Wtw works. Heavy design involvement in which I wrote and approved documentation such as the electrical installation specifications, approved 3rd party documents like the FDS, Attended the FAT/SAT with the Client, prepare the Design Risk Assessments for the Health & Safety Plan under CDM regulations and finally wrote the electrical/ICA Consultant Asset Delivery Manager for United Utilities managing the WWtW AMP 3 Outputs in their northern region (30 million) I managed the Client interface with the Engineering Design Consultants were I would comment on their designs and make sure the design was fit for purpose and design compliant . I would then build in any foreseen risk via a monetary value into the overall cost to complete. I would be the stakeholder to subcontract partnering alliance, agreeing a final ITc cost with the subcontracting alliance; I would quantify the risks, such as environmental conditions, public relations, and council planning into the final cost to complete. I would attend meeting on behalf of the Client including kick off monthly progress meeting, a quarterly design value engineering meeting were I would look to drive down the overall costs. I controlled all payments to the Partnering Alliance and the Engineering Design Consultants. I would report the risks and costs up to the Area Asset Delivery Manager on a monthly basis. Project controls manager on short-term contract as a consultant for Memcor (Vivendi water) organising Frame-work pricing of main contractors role/works under IChemE green/red book conditions. I was brought into Memcor to teach the Project Manager and the Project engineers how to price and project manage a scope of works/design as the main contractor under the IChemE Green/Red book form of contract. I demonstrated how to build up a reimbursable target cost under the ICheme Green Book, and showed how to manage a fixed lump sum contract under the IChemE Red book. After the pricing exercise, Memcor elected for a fixed lump sum contract. We then negotiated the lump sum with the client and set about managing the subcontractor packages and staff allocation of hours to the project. After the contract was up and running the contract was deemed to be up. Other duties included the approval of designs for cost compliance May 2001May 2002 Paterson Candy on contract as assistant Project/Design Manger on Dublin Bay STW (50 Million) working under Fidic contract conditions. My role

Degremont on 6 months contract as project manager on the Northumbrian Water Northern coastal works encompassing six new STW outlet works (7000k) under ICE & G90 contract conditions. I took over a poorly running contract of coastal

works, I implemented a recovery plan using MS project as a project management tool. To demonstrate what was we had to achieve for contract design completion and handover. This plan identified all of the key responsibilities of each partner in framework alliance, setting objectives to gain project take over from Northumbrian Water. The result was the client Northumbrian Water was happy and Degremont gained contract completion and take over. Other responsibilities included the drafting of design specifications and ordering of equipement that was in line with approved and prepared designs I had earlier drafted attended progress and design review meetings and a weekly basis agreeing design changes and implementation of new innovative solutions
