Parkers named top dog

Parker Wilson opened Parkers Jumbo Dogs in the late 1940s in the Santa Cruz area; hence the name. By 1955, Parkers was located in Capitola. Wilson passed away in the 1970s, and son John, after retiring from the Air Force, reopened Parkers in Roseville, where it has earned the Best Hot Dog award.

Of course, Best of the Best winners dont receive championship rings, but for those counting, The Hub owners Sarah and Heath Sherratt have been voted Best Bicycle Shop five times since opening in March 2007. And they havent changed the game plan or called an audible to maintain their popularity and satisfaction with the voting public. We serve people who are getting off the couch to champions. Were able to take care of everybody, Heath Sherratt said. Thats a tall task because most people take care of one or the other. Sherratt, a past national champion, said he has been witness to one cyclist losing 100 pounds by riding 500 miles a week. The cyclist is now off his meds and has inspired others to get on a bike. A construction meeting is held each Monday at Premier Pools & Spas, and the same question is asked each and every week: Are customers happy? You cant advertise yourself into a good reputation, said Keith Harbeck, founder of Premier Pools & Spas, voted Best Pool Builder. Its very gratifying. (Customer service has) always been the most important thing to me. Weve been doing it for 25 years. The sales office is located in Rancho Cordova, and Premier Pools & Spas has a retail store in Roseville. Harbeck noted Premier Pools & Spas isnt just a pool builder and remodeler. It Rosevilles Action Camera is a place where professional and amateur photographers alike flock to find the perfect lens. The store has been an institution in Roseville for three decades with no signs of slowing down. Original owners Dale and Leann Zicarelli built a following on strong customer service. In 2011, the couple retired, selling the store to local photography lover Charlie Landefeld. The big news for this local mainstay is that Landefeld is expanding his operations.
