CLUB NEWS:
Well well well.... We finally had our first round of the Sureline Fencing Team Penning Buckle Series and the Woodside Cutting Buckle Series. Thank you to each and every one of you for showing up on the weekend and making it a major success. It was great to see our club president Wally Breton up and walking around once again; he has spent many months in and out of hospital. There are a few special thank yous that we would like to give: Charlie Walsh for helping out with the back yards; and Doc Cavanagh, Warren, Ben and Alicia Ellis, and Neil Rylatt. They worked until 2am Sunday morning after the Twilight Cutting finished collaring cattle. That was a great effort by these people. Two of them are not members or competitors with the club. If you can give a hand with collaring or de-collaring in the future, please give Warren Ellis a call on his mobile (0439 988 406) and let him know when you can help, it would be much appreciated. Wally, our President, would like to thank all the people that helped behind the scenes over the weekend. We broke our record pulling down the arena and de-collaring the cattle. The whole arena was pulled down and 120 cattle de-collared in 30 mins. It was great to see everyone lending a hand as that it meant the committee wasnt there till late. Ok - for all the people who have been saying Gaye Ellis, what is the theme going to be for the end of the year charity event?.......... It will be open to the young and young at heart with all riders and their horses competing in costume. There will be prizes for best dressed and fastest time in a novelty event which will be decided closer to the date. The theme is super heroes, cartoons and nursery rhyme characters. Remember this is a fundraising event and all proceeds will go to a charity. We would love some ideas from our members about what our charity should be this year; one idea so far is Riding for the Disabled. Please email with suggestions.

Some Reminders...
HERD CHANGES: Just a reminder from our cattle steward: on competition or practice days, there are only a few people that are allowed in the arena to settle the cattle or change the herd. These people have been asked by our cattle steward Warren Ellis to do the job. So please do not go into the arena to work your horse or to help settle. On competition days and even training days there is a warm up arena for everyone to use. READY TO RIDE: There were two teams eliminated for a run because they were not ready or anywhere in sight when called by our judge. The teams were called several times and then a further three warnings given. This delay holds everyone up and there is no reason that this should happen as the draw is always out on our web site a couple of days before and displayed at the arena near the gate. The teams for the next seven runs are also announced during each herd change. So please riders pay attention to where your runs are on the day as Im sure the judge and committee really dont want to disqualify anyone.

Congratulations to the following club members who competed at the Dayboro Show Team Penning run by the Dayboro Trail Riders Club: 1st: Springview Stud #3 -3 hd in 38secs 712 pts Lisa Marshall, Mark Mussig, Adele Warner 2nd: Springview Stud #4 695 pts Mark Mussig, Jenny Kemp, Lisa Marshall 3rd: Kobble Stone #1 685 pts Burnie Bell, Erin Bell, Nicky Dibben 4th: Blue Creek Saddles #1 683 pts Sandra Heeb, Gaye Ellis, John Heeb 5th: Redmond # 2 - 672 pts Cheryl Redmond, Dennis Richards, Robyn Halls
