BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting


Version: 8.6.02 July 2011

BMC Software is releasing version 8.6.02 of the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting solution for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management. These release notes provide information about this release. The information in this document supplements and supersedes information in the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting documentation.

BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting overview


BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting is an advanced reporting platform. It uses the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise product as the host for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management to administer and publish reports. It also uses Oracle Database 11g as the application database.

Whats new in BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting 8.6.02


BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting 8.6.02 supports causal reports. It also allows you import the latest universe and reports into SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise automatically at the time of installing BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine 8.6.02.

Report templates
BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting contains impact report and event report templates.

Impact report templatesdisplay data based on a service's availability, failures, repairs and incidents, and the time related to each. Event report templatesdisplay operator response time to an event, event counts, top event sources, and other event details.

Issue Uninstallation of BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine does not remove all the files or directories. Workaround: After uninstalling BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine, restart the computer, and delete the installation directory manually.

In a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 computer, when you install BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine, on the Time Zone Selection page, the time zone that is selected by default depends on the time zone of the computer on which you are installing BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine. If many cities share a particular time zone, by default, the first entry in the list is selected. If you do not change the default time zone, you may set an incorrect time zone for the BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine. Workaround: Manually change the time zone of the BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine.

Corrected issues
This section describes the issues that were corrected in this release.

Issue When you export reports in the Microsoft Excel or .csv format, the data formatting was not maintained properly in the report.

Monitoring connectivity between BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine and Oracle Database
You can monitor the connectivity status between BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine and Oracle Database using BMC PATROL Knowledge Module. It alerts you when BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine fails to access Oracle Database.
