The Circulatory System

Into
The Circulatory System is one of the most important systems in the whole body. Circulatory System is made up of the heart, blood, veins, capillaries and arteries. The Circulatory System gives nutrients and oxygen to the rest of the body.

The Heart
The heart is the main part of the Ciculatory system. The heart works like two systems the left and the right. Pulmonary Vein: The take Pulmonary Vein takes oxygenated blood from lungs to heart, so that that the body gets oxygen and nutrients. System 1: Left side of heart Sends oxygenated blood from lungs to the rest of body (via Aorta). System 2: Right Side of Heart Takes deoxygenated blood from body (via Vena Cava) and sends to lungs to be exhaled Pulmonary Artery: transfers deoxygenated blood to lungs. Cardiac tissue: is tissue that never stops pumping that makes the heart pump.

History
Before 1900, very few people died of heart disease. Since then, heart disease has become the number one killer in the United States.

The heart has played an important role in understanding the body since ancient times. In the fourth century B. C., the Greek philosopher Aristotle identified the heart as the most important organ of the body. Aristotle described it as a three-chambered organ that was the center of energy in the body. Other organs surrounding it (e.g. brain and lungs) simply existed to cool the heart.

Blood
The Blood contains white blood cells, platelets (little less than 1%), red blood cells (45%) and plasma (55%). Platelets make your blood thicker so that when you cut yourself blood doesnt go everywhere likes a fountain. Capillaries take the oxygen and nutrients form the blood and then veins take it back to the heart through the veins. When the blood gets to the heart, the carbon dioxide in the blood and is then given to the blood to be exhaled through the blood. For thousands of years humans did not even know how their own blood worked. They had many questions about the circulatory system. Here are when some of their questions were answered. 16th century BC: An ancient Egyptian medical document called The Ebers Papyrus Has some of the earliest information of the circulatory system.

The Relationship between Respiratory and Circulatory System

Your respiratory system takes in oxygen from the air then oxygen travels through the bloodstream by allowing it to move across the membranes of the lungs into the blood vessels. The circulatory system then carries oxygen to every cell in the body and picks up carbon dioxide waste, which it returns to the lungs. Carbon dioxide diffuses (spread) from the blood into the lungs, and you exhale it into the air.

Stages Of A Bruise
In 1-5 days haemoglobin inside the blood changes and your bruise turns bluish-purple or black. After 5-10 days, the bruise usually the bruise becomes slightly green or yellow. after 10-14 days, it finally becomes a yellowish-brown or light brown. Finally, in about 2 weeks, the bruise will fade away.
