As a former ticket sales intern for Seton Hall basketball, the Knicks marketing team has furthered my interest in sports marketing with many well developed marketing techniques, such as the reseating program shortly after Madison Square Garden renovations. Currently, I am most interested in the season packages you offer to customers because they attract Knick and opposing fans to create a great atmosphere at each game. In respect to future seasons, I am interested in studying the marketing techniques a professional level basketball program uses and how they differ from a collegiate program.

As you may note in the enclosed resume, I have worked in a retail marketing position for Zumiez retail store in Livingston, New Jersey. I strengthened my skills in communication there by talking to customers and colleagues in the work environment on a daily basis. In addition to enhancing my communication skills, I have learned a variety of marketing techniques from a frontline employee position. I intend to apply my passion for sports, my creative skills and Public Relations techniques learned as a UMD PR major to excel in the corporate industry. In addition to working at Zumiez, I have expressed my interest in business marketing by participating in interviews with LOreal marketing and PR representatives. Through those interviews, I have learned what marketing does from a corporate standpoint, and how important it is to have a wide range of skills to contribute to the companys marketing department. I applied these skills in my first sports marketing internship at Seton Hall University. I believe that I can continue to apply and improve these valuable analytical, communication and leadership skills to be a successful contributor to the New York Knicks marketing team. I am eager to begin my career in the Marketing Department of the New York Knicks.
