This report summarizes the results of a field test conducted by the Houston Police Department and evaluated by the Police Foundation under a grant from the National Institute of Justice. The project tested the hypothesis that the location of a police community station in a neighborhood could reduce fear of crime and increase citizens’ satisfaction with their neighborhood and with the police.
