1. INTRODUCTION
Internet has emerged power tool learning. It also allows teachers and students to interact, share and exchange information. Wiki is a website which uses wiki software and allows creation and editing number of interlinked web pages to generate content on web. Today we observe the capacity of technology to provide support for customized educational programs to meet the needs of individual learners [1], and the growing use of the Internet and WWW as tool for information access and communication [2]. Internet is a computer network made up of thousands of network worldwide. The internet made the world smaller. ICT is a force that has changed many aspects of the way we live [4]. The growing use of ICTs as tools of everyday life have seen the pool of generic skills expanded in recent years to include information literacy and it is highly probable that future developments and technology applications will see this set of skills growing even more. [3] It is now possible to access almost everything through the internet and many companies conduct all their business activities this way. Using internet one can shop any product, book the ticket. Ordering books, furniture and everything imaginable is now available on the internet. Directories and guides, telephone directories and Volume 2, Issue 3 May June 2013

discussion platforms are all services provided by the internet. In educational institution there is need to use internet for accessing recent information from world wide. Which techniques are applied in reputed institution we can get all such information using internet. The Lesson Plans Page [6] implement while delivering lecture etc., there are multiple alternative solutions available to teachers through internet. There are websites which gives the teaching methodology means what to teach, how to teach, e.g. www.khanacedamy .com is a website where anyone (students or teacher ) can get free access of e-resources those are helpful for us for self learning. In teaching learning is central point that means both teachers and students they are in learning mode. They have to learn new things and for doing this internet plays an important role. Today we can easily adopt some advanced teaching techniques in our institution, get all recent information using internet and for doing research we can use online journals and easily download the required information.

2. OBJECTIVE

We can get so many free software packages as per our requirements. Acquire global information and teaching practices. Hypothesis1: There is significance difference between age and average hours spend on internet. This null hypothesis is tested using chi square test Table1: Avg. hours spent on internet across by people in different age groups Avg. Age in years Total Hours spend on internet (hrs)

Above table shows the information about Annual income and internet usage and the percentage of the respondents. Here using chi-square test calculated value of and table value of is 19.64 for 3 degree of freedom at 5% level

of significance is 7.8. So that here calculated value of is greater than table value of hence we reject the hypothesis that means Internet usage is independent on annual income is rejected and hence we conclude that Internet usage is dependent on annual income is true. Hypothesis3: Internet usage is independent on its features. This is null hypothesis is tested using chi square test Table3: Internet usage and its features Features Internet Usage Total Used % Not Used % Browsing 22 100 0 0 22 E-mail 21 95 1 05 22 Other 5 83 1 17 6 Total 48 2 50 Above table shows information about different features used by respondents. Using chi-square test calculated value of is 5.83 and table value of for 2 degree of freedom at 5% level of significance is 5.99. So that here calculated value of is less than table value of hence we accept the hypothesis that Internet usage is independent on its features. It means we use internet depending upon its features is true. Hypothesis4. Internet usage and effectiveness of teaching are independent. Table4: Internet usage and Teaching effectiveness Teaching Internet Total Effectiveness Used % Not % Used Effective 37 92 3 08 40 Not Effective 7 70 3 30 10 Total 40 10 50 Above table shows information about Internet usage and respondents opinion about teaching effectiveness. Above table shows the information about average hours spend on internet and the age wise percentage of usage. Using chi-square test calculated value of table value of is 2.19 and is less for 4 degree of freedom at 5% level of

significance is 9.488. As calculated value of

than table value of , hence we accept the null hypothesis that there is significance difference between age and average hours spent on internet. Hypothesis2: Internet usage is independent on annual income Table2: Annual income and internet usage Annual Internet Usage Total income (in Usage % Non % lakhs) Usage Under 02 20 8 80 10 1,00000 1000008 80 2 20 10 200000 20000022 88 3 12 25 300000 300000 and 5 100 0 0 5 above Total 37 13 50

significance is 0.455. So that here calculated value of is greater than table value of hence we reject the null hypothesis Internet usage and effectiveness of teaching are independent and hence we conclude that Internet usage and effectiveness of teaching are dependent.

5. CONCLUSION
Internet usage helps to improve the quality of education, and hence if we use internet and its features in education then it can enhance productivity and international competitiveness. In educational institution main aim is to acquire updated knowledge use of new teaching methodologies and we can make availability of such recent teaching techniques using internet. An information-based society or knowledge based society is comprised of IT products, IT applications with help to improve economy as a whole. The Internet is boosting efficiency and integrates business in developing countries. The developed countries have long lead over the developing countries in the telecom infrastructure. Same is true for electronics, Internet connections, and the number of Internet hosts. Many online products and services are provided by internet. The study concludes that there is significance difference between age and average hours spent on internet, Internet usage is dependent on annual income, also on availability of internet features, Internet usage and effectiveness of teaching are dependent. And hence it is todays need to use internet in educational institution for updating and enhancing their knowledge so that students as well as teachers get benefited from and anyone can learn difficult subjects also using simple methodology provided through e-learning portals.

6. FUTURE SCOPE
The data collected is only from few representative educational institutions. In future there is scope to collect the data from different institutions among different states. We can also collect the data from students and we can do the analysis from teachers as well as students point of view.
