TITLE : Procedure for Identification and Fulfilment of
Purpose Scope

Training need. : To describe the system followed for the identification of training needs and implementation of training plan for employees. : This is applicable to all employees of the company.

Responsibility : GM - HR Procedure : + 01. Every year at the start of the Finac year, GM(HR) shall identify the training needs for the personnel in the company.The basis for this shall be the skill matrix prepared and updated every year. In order to establish the skill matrix, GM(HR) shall have the job specifications for each position.GM(HR) , in consultation with departmental heads, shall update the skill matrix w.r.t. the job specifications of the position held by the employee. The skill matrix shall indicate the skill gaps required to hold the respective position. Based on the skill gaps identified in the skill matrix GM(HR) shall identify the training needs of the employee. 02. Based on the recommendations by the departmental heads the GM(HR) shall decide common areas of training needs and prepare separate training schedule FM-18-08 & 09 for each area identified for next six months and submit to ED for his approval. 03. DGM (P&A) in consultation with GM (HR) & Functional Heads shall then prepare training schedules every month separate for each plan which shall indicate the topic for training agency, the need for formal certification and release to all concerned. 04. DGM (P&A) shall arrange for the training as per the training schedules and maintain a record of training programs conducted along with the personnel who have undergone these programs, in the respective training file & Training participants attendance sheet FM-18-01. He shall also keep Individual Training record for all employees of the organisation. 05. For identified special processes referred in QP-09-02, statistical techniques are to be implemented as mentioned in QP-09-05. Appropriate training to concerned personnel shall be arranged by Departmental Heads while DGM (P&A) shall maintain records of such trainings. 06. The operator qualifications of special processes shall be certified by concerned department heads & copies shall be maintained by DGM (P&A) 07. For Identification of training needs in other areas than mentioned above which may be necessary to carry out allocated regular duties or special task assigned like vendor evaluation, maintenance checks, temporary change in machine to be operated etc., to employees in each department, and providing them adequate training shall be responsibility of each departmental head. This shall be continuous / unscheduled

08. For all the personnel engaged in Engg.& development activities, to be well conversant with standard techniques, shall be trained in those areas. Appropriate applicable areas of special skills amongst mentioned below shall be identified for each person in the group by Engg. & development incharge. These areas shall include , as appropriate : - Geometrical dimensioning & tolerancing (GD & T) - Quality Function Deployment (QFD) - Design for manufacturing (DFM) / design for assembly (DFA). - Value Engineering (VE). - Design of experiments (Taguchi & Classical) - Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA / PFMEA, etc.) - Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - Computer Aided Design (CAD) / Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) - Reliability Engineering Plans Engg & Development Incharge shall ensure that all personnel engaged in Engg. & dev. activities including himself have undergone required training and have acquired required level of knowledge and skill in their functional areas. Wherever these trainings are conducted by outside professionals formal certification of the personnel undergone the training shall be obtained. Records of these training shall be maintained by DGM (P&A). 09 . Personnel from various deptt., as appropriate , shall also be trained for identified latest techniques of Continuous Improvement. 10 GM (HR) shall obtain once in a quarter, the format filled in by each department head, to express their findings on effectiveness of training imparted to employees in their respective departments. 11. G.M.(HR) shall appraise the comments offered by department heads to ED & submit data in the next management review meetings.
