RECAP: RF Carlos Pegureo recorded a career-high 6 hits as Tacoma rallied from behind to defeat
Reno 9-7 in 12 innings on Friday night. Peguero (6x7, 2 R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI) leads the Rainiers with
16 home runs and 63 RBI, but has never had more than 4 hits in a game in his career. He is the
2nd Mariners farmhand to record 6 hits in game this season (also Abe Almonte, 5/29 at COL).
2B/SS Robert Andino (3x6, 2 R, HR, RBI), CF/3B Nate Tenbrink (2x3, 2 R, 3 BB) and DH
Michael Morse (2x6, R, BB) each recorded multi-hit games for Tacoma. Starter Blake Beavan
(6.0,9,5,5,1,3,HR) allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in 6.0 innings, but didnt figure into the decision.
Relievers RH Chance Ruffin (2.0,2,0,0,0,2), LH Brian Moran (1.0,0,0,0,0,0), RH Logan Bawcom

has not allowed a hit, while walking 1 and striking out 1 in 2.0 innings. He also made a rehab start on July 16 with Short-A Everett, allowing
3 runs (2 ER) on 3 hits with 1 strikeout and 1 balk before being removed after reaching his pitch limit. Pryor was placed on the 15-day DL
with a tear in his right latissimus dorsi muscle on April 15. Pryor appeared in 7 of Seattles first 14 games this season. He did not allow a
run in 7.1 innings while striking out 7 and allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk.
OF NOTE: OF Abraham Almonte has hit safely in 46 of 60 games (w/AB) with the Rainiers. He leads the team with a .316 (67x212)
batting average since making his Triple-A debut on May 13. After tossing one scoreless inning on Monday night, RH Stephen Pryor has
not allowed a run through 19 career appearances (23.0 IP) with the Rainiers since his Triple-A debut on May 8, 2012. LHP James Paxton
recorded a season-high 11 strikeouts on June 22 vs. Fresno. It marked his 9th career start recording at least 10 strikeouts (last: 11, 5/13/13
at New Orleans). RHP Taijuan Walker tossed 14.0 scoreless innings over his first 3 AAA starts, before allowing a solo home run in the 5th
inning on July 7 at Salt Lake. Overall he is 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA (7 ER, 26.0 IP) in 5 starts with Tacoma. He has limited opponents to a .208
(20x96) average, while walking 10 and striking out 29. Walker is currently the youngest player in the PCL this season and 2nd-youngest in
Triple-A. He made his Triple-A debut vs. Fresno on June 25 at Cheney Stadium (W, 6.0,3,0,0,2,4). Walker is the youngest Rainiers pitcher
to make his Triple-A debut since a 19-year-old Felix Hernandez on April 8, 2005 at Fresno.
TRIPLE-A ALL-STAR GAME RECAP: Indianapolis Indians catcher Tony Sanchez's 2nd-inning 3-run blast powered the visiting
International League to a 4-3 victory over the Pacific Coast League on Wednesday at the 2013 Triple-A All-Star Game, hosted by the Reno
Aces. Rainiers outfielder Carlos Peguero walked in his only plate appearance, while finishing the game in right field. LH Brian Moran
(1.0,1,0,0,0,2) allowed 1 hit and struck out 2 in a scoreless 5th inning.

RECAP: The Generals out-hit the Lookouts 11-7, but it wasnt enough as Jackson lost to
Chattanooga 2-5 on Friday night. CF James Jones (2x4), RF Julio Morban (2x3, 2 R, HR, RBI,
BB), 1B Ji-Man Choi (2x4), C John Hicks (2x4, RBI) and DH Daniel Paolini (2x4, 2B) each
recorded 2 of the teams 11 hits. Starter Anthony Vasquez (5.1,4,4,4,2,1,2HR) recorded his lost
the loss, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits in 5.1 innings. RH Stephen Shackleford (1.1,1,1,1,1,2) allowed
a run in the 7th inning, while LH Nick Hill (0.2,2,0,0,0,0) and RH Carson Smith (0.2,0,0,0,0,0)
combined to hold the Lookouts scoreless over the final 1.1 innings.
OF NOTE: After allowing 5 runs over his first 6 appearances of the season, RH Carson Smith has
allowed only 5 earned runs over his last 28 relief appearances. During this stretch he is 0-1 with 7
saves and a 1.52 ERA (5 ER, 29.2 IP). Since April 22, Smith has lowered his ERA from 8.44 to
2.57. Smith has struck out at least 1 batter in 30 of 34 games, including recording 18 strikeouts over
his last 12 appearances. LH Kyle Hunter has held oppoents scoreless in 22 of 26 relief

SOUTHERN LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME RECAP: The Southern League South All-Stars limited
the North All-Start to only 1 hit in 6-0 win on Wednesday night. The South used 11 pitchers and
limited the North to 5 baserunners. It was the South's second straight All-Star win after seven
consecutive losses. Jackson outfielder James Jones (1x4, K) recorded the only hit for the North
All-Stars, hitting a double to right field to snap the no-hitter in the 5th inning. LHP Elias Roenis
(1.0,2,0,0,0,2) allowed 2 hits and struck out 2 in a scoreless 2nd inning. Jones was the only
Generals player to appear in the game that was also managed by Jim Pankovits.

(6.0,3,0,0,2,5) earned his 7th win of the season, allowing 3 hits and striking out 5 in 6.0 scoreless innings. RH Richard Vargas
(2.0,2,0,0,0,4) tossed a scoreless 7th and 8th innings, while RH Oliver Garcia (1.0,2,1,1,0,0) earned his first save of the season despite
allowing a run in the 9th inning. SS Ketel Marte (2x5, RBI), CF/LF Alfredo Morales (2x4, BB) and C Tyler Marlette (2x3, 2 BB) each each
recorded 2 of the LumberKings 9 hits.
OF NOTE: OF Gabriel Guerrero has hit safely in 22 of his last 30 games, batting .352 (38x108) with 14 runs scored, 6 doubles, 12 RBI, 4

SANCHEZ NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK: RH Victor Sanchez was named Midwest League Player of the Week, 5 days after he
tossed the 7th 9-inning no-hitter in franchise history. Sanchez, 18, no-hit the Lansing Lugnuts in Clinton's 1-0 win on Wednesday night at
Ashford University Field. In the dominant performance against Lansing, Sanchez did not walk a batter and struck out a season-high 8. He
hit a batter in the first inning then retired 20 straight before a pair of errors allowed 2 baserunners in the 8th. In 77 years of baseball in
Clinton, it marks the 22nd time a pitcher has tossed a no-hitter. Sanchez is the youngest to accomplish the feat. It is the 2nd such honor for
a LumberKings player this year; Jabari Henry took home the award in early May.

RECAP: The AquaSox scored a run in the top of the 8th inning, but allowed a run in the bottom of the 11th inning as Everett lost to
Hillsboro 3-4 on Friday. C Christian Carmichael (2x5, R, HR, RBI), RF James Zamarripa (2x4, BB) and DH Reggie Lawson (2x5)
combined for 6 of Everetts 8 hits. Starter Tyler Olson (6.0,7,2,1,2,4) allowed 2 runs (1 ER) on 7 hits in 6.0 innings, but didnt figure into the
decision. Relievers RH Tommy Burns (2.0,2,1,1,1,3,0), LH Nick Valenza (1.0,0,0,0,0,1) and RH Min-Sih Chen (1.1,3,1,1,1,0) combined
to allow 2 runs voer the final 4.1 innings. Chen recored his 2nd loss of the season after allowing a 1-out single to Yogey Perez-Ramos in
the bottom of the 11th inning.
OF NOTE: C Christian Carmichael has recorded 5 hits in his lst 9 at-bats (.556) with 1 run scored, 1 home run and 1 RBI. RH Lars
Huijer has recorded a win in each of his last 4 starts, going 4-0 with a 0.45 ERA (1 ER, 20.0 ER). Overall he is 6-1 with a 1.85 ERA (9 ER,
42.2 IP) in 8 games, 7 starts. He has limitd opponents to a .166 average (25x151), while walking 13 and striking out 38.
NORTHWEST LEAGUE ALL-STAR TEAM: Seven players from the Everett AquaSox were named to the Northwest League Northern
Division All-Star team, including pitchers Aaron Brooks, Lars Huijer, and Jose Valdivia, catcher Carlton Tanabe and infielders D.J.
Peterson, Jack Reinheimer, and Justin Seager. The first-half division champions were rewarded for their efforts with strong showings in
both fan and manager voting as Peterson and Reinheimer were selected as starters for the leagues first All-Star Game since 2004.
Peterson will be unable to participate after recently being called up to Single-A Clinton.
In addition to the 7 Everett players that will suit up for the All-Star Game, the AquaSox coaching staff, including manager Rob Mummau,
pitching coach Rich Dorman, hitting coach Rafael Santo Domingo, head athletic trainer Spyder Webb, and performance specialist Taylor
Nakamura, will serve as the coaches for the North Division team.
The Everett AquaSox host the 2013 Northwest League All-Star Game on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. This event marks the first NWL All-Star
game since 2004, and will become an annual league tradition, with a different NWL team hosting it each year.
