Addition of Penetron Admix to RMC Transit Mixer:

Mix Penetron Admix with water to form very thin slurry (e.g. 21.12 Kg of Admix with 26.61 Lit of water for a 6 cum Transit mixer.) The aggregate, cement and water should be batched and mixed in the plant in accordance with standard practices (taking into account the quantity of water that is proposed to be added along with PENETRON ADMIX. Pour the PENETRON ADMIX (in slurry form) into the truck and mixed for at least 5 minutes (Max. Speed) to ensure even distribution of the Penetron Admix throughout the concrete. (A separate elevated stage should be arranged by the client / Main contractor for access to add the admix in to the transit Mixer at a suitable location inside the site.

A proper weighing system and sufficient number of mixing containers should be established near the mixing spot. Source of portable water should be arranged near the Mixing spot. The quantity of Penetron Admix added to the concrete in Kg is recorded in a Log sheet and time of mixing in transit is recorded and acknowledged. Note: It is important to obtain a homogeneous mixture of Penetron Admix with the concrete. Therefore, do not add dry Admix powder directly to wet concrete

as this may cause clumping and thorough dispersion will not occur. Penetron Admix must be stored dry. A secured covered storage space shall be provided in the close vicinity of the mixing spot.

Application Method: Penetron Admix should be dosed at a recommended rate of 0.8% by weight of the Cement materials in the mix. Penetron Admix to be mixed with water in the ratio of 1 kg to: 1.26 Litres of water. Form a slurry mixture. Pour the slurry mixture into the truck drum to be mixed with the concrete. The truck drum should be rotated at high speed for 5 minutes to ensure proper Mixing of Penetron Admix throughout the concrete and concreting is done. The Penetron admix can be mixed in dry form to the Batch mixing plant also. For M 25 Grade Concrete, assuming the Cement + Fly Ash content of 360 Kg per Cum, the quantity of Penetron Admix to be added to Concrete will be 2.88 Kgs per Cum.

Retaining Wall Treatment:

The entire thickness of retaining wall of 250 to 450 mm thick is dosed with PENETRON admix, As a secondary treatment, a coat of PENETRON SLURRY is applied @ 1Kg/sqmt after rectifying the defects (Like Honey combs cracks etc) in the retaining wall concrete with Penecrete Mortar. After the coating and curing of the surface for minimum 3 days, back filling of earth can be done without any protective plastering. Penetron slurry should be applied in the retaining wall take up to 300 mm from the final filled level. In addition, as recommended, the construction joints have to treat with Self healing Water stopper PENEBAR during construction or with

PENECRETE MORTAR as post construction joint treatment.
