ANALISIS TEKNIK PENERJEMAHAN DAN PERGESERAN (SHIFTS) PADA TEKS KONTRAK AXA-LIFE INDONESIA

ABSTRAK

Untuk memperoleh hasil terjemahan yang baik dan ekivalen, dibutuhkan strategi serta penerapan beberapa teknik dan pergeseran (shifts), sehingga akan diperoleh hasil dengan tingkat keterbacaan dan keberterimaan yang memadai. Penelitian ini menganalisis penerapan teknik penerjemahan serta pergeseran bentuk sebagai bahagian dari pergeseran kategori (category shifts) dalam suatu produk legal teks. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif atas data terpancang merujuk pada teori analisis data kualitatif Seiddel melalui pemrosesan data yang dilakukan dalam beberapa tahapan, yakni penyuntingan, identifikasi, dan tabulasi. Hasilnya mengindikasikan bahwa ada 13 jenis teknik penerjemahan yang diimplementasikan, yakni teknik amplifikasi (37%), teknik peminjaman (2%), teknik calque (2%), teknik kompensasi (1%), teknik diskripsi (2%) teknik kreasi diskursif (5%) teknik generalisasi (5%), penerjemahan harfiah (10%), teknik modulasi (8%), teknik partikularisasi (5%) teknik reduksi (5%) teknik penambahan (4%), dan teknik penghilangan (14%). Sementara pergeseran bentuk yang terjadi dalam proses penerjemahan teks adalah pergeseran intra-system 90 (52,02%), pergeseran unit 46 (26,59%), pergeseran struktur 24 (13,88%), serta pergeseran kelas 13 (7,51%). Dalam proses analisis teknik dan pergeseran pada penelitian ini, ditemukan ketidakakuratan penerjemahan atas 5 frasa, yang kemudian menghasilkan terjemahan yang tidak ekivalen dalam penerjemahan dari bahasa sumber ke bahasa sasaran.

ANALYZE TECHNICS OF TRANSLATION AND SHIFTS ON AXA-LIFE INDONESIAN CONTRACT TEXT

ABSTRACT

Achieving a readable, acceptable and equivalent translation, appropriate technics of translation, includes the shifts are urgently required. This research analyses the implementation of elictic technics and formed shifts as the part of category-shifts in the process of a translation of a legislative text. The research was carried out on descriptive qualitative method on a legislative text as a product of translation. Data analysis data referred to Seiddels qualitative data analysis where the data processing is conducted by selecting, identification, and tabulating. The finding indicates that the technic implemented in the entirely translation covered 13 (thirteen) technique, they are amplification (37), borrowing (2%), calque (2%), compensation (1%), description (2%) discursive creation (5%) generalization (5%), literal translation (10%), modulation (8%), particularization (5%) reduction (5%) completion (4%), and dilation (14%). Meanwhile, the four category shifts are implemented as the following frequence: Intra-system Shifts; 90 (52,02%), followed by Unit Shifts 46 (26,59%), Structural Shifts 24 (13,88%), and then Class Shifts 13 (7,51%). Other finding was inaccurate translation. It was found that there were imprecise translation for 5 phrases, and resulted inaccurate translation in rendering the source language into the target language.
