MTK Log Catcher Procedure

Steps for Catch The Logs with USB Cable:


Step 1 Go to the Engineering mode of the handset. Q50 *#84666364*# X265 **#446633# There are some options select Device Set UART UART Setting. Like for Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Go to the option TST-PS Config. There are some options like: None, UART 1, UART 2, UART 3 and USB Port. Select the option USB port and scroll down to the Baud-Rate and change it to according to the handset. Like for Q50: 921600 X265: 460800 Now go to the option TST-L1 Config. Follow the step 4 and 5. Now press the Ok key. There will a message on the display Done. Power off in 3 sec. Now will get switched off. Open the Catcher log file. Click on Config Set Database Path.

Step 12 Click on that icon and select the path of the software which is present in handset. Step 13 Select the src file and press ok. Step 14 Now click on the icon and then there will a window.

Step 15 Step 16 Step 17

Select the particular port as shown in system device manager. Now click on that icon and it will start taking the logs. icon.

You can select filers as well by click on that

Steps for Catch The Logs with Download Cable:

Step 1

Go to the Engineering mode of the handset. a. Like for Q50 *#84666364*# 1. X265 **#446633# Step 2 There are some options select Device Set UART UART Setting. Step 3 Step 4 Go to the option TST-PS Config. There are some options like: None, UART 1, UART 2, UART 3 and USB Port.

Step 5 Select the option UART 1 and scroll down to the Baud-Rate and change it to according to the handset. Like for Q50 : 921600 a. X265: 460800 Step 6 Now go to the option TST-L1 Config. Step 7 Step 8 Step 9 Step 10 Step 11 Follow the step 4 and 5. Now press the Ok key. There will a message on the display Done. Power off in 3 sec. Now will get switched off. Open the Catcher log file. Click on Config Set Database Path.

Step 12 Click on that icon and select the path of the software which is present in handset. Step 13 Select the src file and press ok. Step 14 Now click on the icon and then there will a window.

Select the particular port as shown in system device manager. Now click on that icon and it will start taking the logs. icon.

How to Save the Logs:

A. First connect the handset with catcher and select the particular filter and perform the steps. B. After that click on that icon. It will disconnect and handset from catcher.

C. Now click on File and select the option Save Log As... Option. D. The logs will save at your selected location.

How to take Logs & Memory Dump for a crash issue:


Step 1 Go to the Engineering mode of the handset. Like for Q50 *#84666364*# X265 **#446633# Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 There are some options select Device Set UART UART Setting. Go to the option TST-PS Config. There are some options like: None, UART 1, UART 2, UART 3 and USB Port. Select the option USB port and scroll down to the Baud-Rate and change it to according

to the handset. Like for Q50 : 921600 X265: 460800 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Step 9 Step 10 Step 11 Step 12 Step 13 Step 14 Now go to the option TST-L1 Config. Follow the step 4 and 5. Now press the Ok key. There will a message on the display Done. Power off in 3 sec. Now will get switched off. Now switch on the phone and go to the engineering mode again. Go to the Misc.>Memory Dump, turn it on. Now connect the handset with catcher via USB or Download cable. Select the respective filters as directed. Reproduce the issue till the handset gets crashed.

Note: When handset gets crashed it will stops in a white screen and logs will be stop in catcher. Step 15 Now press the disconnect icon and save the logs. Do not disconnect the handset

with the cable.

Step 16

Now press the

connect icon and go to the Advanced>Memory Dump option. You

will get below window.

Step 17 Step 18

Set the path to save the Dump by clicking on

icon.

Now click on Memory dump and it will start downloading the dump when it will

complete, you will get the finished pop up.
