VILLAGE AVIATION, INC.

NOTICE OF REGISTRATION AND CHANGE OF TRADE NAME

On March 30, 2004, Village Aviation, Inc. d/b/a Camai Air requested that the Department register the trade names Village Air Cargo and Safari Pacific Airways for use in certain of its air transportation operations. In addition, the company requested that the Department remove its existing trade name Camai Air from its certificate. Part 215 of the Departments regulations provides that any carrier wishing to use an alternative trade name must first register that name with the Department. The rule further states that the Department may register such trade name after the carrier gives notification to similarly named carriers of the proposed use of the trade name. There are no other similarly named air carriers. However, it is our understanding that Village intends to use the Safari Pacific Airways trade name solely in its proposed operations in American Samoa. Given its certificate limitations,1 the company does not have the appropriate authority to provide such service. Therefore, we are, at this time, deferring the registration of the Safari Pacific Airways trade name.2 Under these circumstances, on April 12, 2004, we registration of the trade name Village Air Cargo by its operations. In addition, we acknowledged that existing trade name Camai Air.3 This notice serves our actions. Dated April 14, 2004 at Washington, D.C.

By Order 95-5-1, served May 1, 1995, the Department granted Village the authority to engage in interstate scheduled air transportation. However, that authority limited Village to operations using aircraft having no more than 30 passenger seats or a 7,500 pound payload, and to operations within the State of Alaska. 2 By letter dated April 2, 2004, we notified Village of our intent to defer the registration of the Safari Pacific Airways trade name until it is able to obtain the necessary authority to conduct its proposed operations. 3 Should we have occasion to reissue Villages certificate, we will remove the Camai Air trade name.
