PRO6 - LTC Jason Jones

Although we lost a great command team, we have gained a new one in the form of CSM Conroy, his lovely wife Heather, and their two beautiful daughters Megan and Mackenzie. The Conroy's come to us from the 18th Fires Brigade and have a wealth of experience in the 82nd Airborne Division. The Professionals are truly excited to have them on board and look forward to working with them as we continue to achieve greatness and write the final chapters of the Battalion. I want to take the time to thank everyone for coming out for the PRO Summer Festival. We had a great PRO6: LTC Jason Jones turn out and from the looks of the smiling faces, I believe everyone had a great time. I would like to personally thank Captain Martinus for his efforts in planning, synchronizing, and overseeing the execution of this fantastic event. I also want to thank all the Troopers who assisted in the set up and tear down and especially the PRO cooks for laying out such a great lunch spread. Without everyone's support, this event would not have been the success that it was! Lastly, as we enter the month of August, many of the Professionals will be taking some well deserved leave in order to re-connect with friends and families. I ask that each of you take full advantage of this time off and challenge you to be safe as you begin your journeys. I look forward to seeing you post block leave, re-charged and ready to GET AFTER IT, as we continue with 4th quarter training.

Greetings to the Troopers, Families, and friends of the Professionals. I hope everyone had a great 4th of July and have been enjoying the summer! The month of July has been fast and furious with the Professionals covering multiple taskings in support of the Division while simultaneously conducting collective and individual Warrior Skills training. This month we bid farewell to Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Condliffe and his lovely wife Cindy. I would like to personally thank the Condliffe Command Team for their dedication and support to the Professionals over the last two years. CSM Condliffe epitomizes what a CSM should be, has set the standard for others to follow, and has greatly enhanced the mission readiness of this organization. Every great NCO and Officer has a strong foundation at home, CSM Condliffe's comes in the form of his wife Cindy. Cindy has dedicated countless hours of volunteer work in support of the Battalion, the Brigade, and the Fort Bragg Installation. She has provided mentorship and guidance for spouses and has touched the lives of the families of the Professionals. I and the Officers, NCOs, and Troopers of the Professionals wish you both the best of luck as you move to 3-319th AFAR.

PRO9 - CSM John Condliffe

I would like to send out a hearty hello to Team PRO! I hope this finds you well and enjoying the wonderful summer we have been enjoying. Our Soldiers are seeing a light at the end of the tunnel with block leave almost upon us. It is time to recharge the batteries and come back with a renewed attack mode for mission accomplishment. With all the changes to the deployment for this BCT and BN it is hard to know what we will come back to, so be prepared for anything! Enjoy your break and if you are traveling please be safe on the roads. Sol di ers on va cat ion t end to "power-down" and let others make all the decisions. I believe it might be their way to decompress. Everyone needs a break, including those parents who have been doing the hard work maintaining the home front and taking care of the family making it easy for their Soldier to come to work ready! Thanks to you all for your support and dedication. PRO9: CSM John Condliffe CSM C.

Greetings Hurricane Family!

A well-deserved block leave is finally here! With our operational tempo, it is very important for us to take time off to refresh, have a good time, and recharge our batteries. However, as you all head off to your various vacation destinations, hometowns, and family gatherings, I urge you all to keep safety in mind. I ask that you remain vigilant while traveling abroad, maintain awareness on the roadways, and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment while engaging in recreational activities to ensure a safe return. Additionally, as you all have heard through FRG channels, the Battalion will face a period of transition in the early part of 2014. However, we will continue to train until the Army tells us not to and will then begin focusing on casing our colors. It is imperative that all Soldiers and family members of the Hurricane family remain focused and supportive up to and through that transition. Lastly, I want to thank all of you for your support at the PRO Summer Festivus. The event was a success all around thanks to you, our Troopers and Families. Thanks to all and all our volunteers.

Family & Friends We hope this finds you and yours well and that you are enjoying the summertime weather! July has been somewhat of a shift for the Assassins, as we have been focusing on Individual Soldier development, a rather intense schedule of Area Beautification and logging some much needed and absolutely well-deserved time off in the form of our nations Independence Day and another 4-day weekend. We kicked the month off by flawlessly executing the 18th Airborne Corps Assumption of Command Salute Battery, with your Troopers being commended by LTG Anderson for their performance. Many Troopers have had an opportunity to increase their Airborne Proficiency and small arms marksmanship through multiple ranges and airborne operations, and all Soldiers were required to take their semi-annual Physical Fitness test. Overall the Battery has done an incredible job. SPC Hutchings has been recognized as the Trooper of the Month for his performance in July, which is highlighted by the earning the Battery's highest APFT score of 349. This month also saw two new additions to the team, as CPL Moorhead and his wife Holly welcomed their first son, Dakota and CPT Turner and his wife Christina welcomed Harper, their second child and first daughter. We wrapped up the month of July with the Battalion Summer Festivus, some administrative paperwork, and preparing for the long-awaited block leave period in August. The Battery thanks each and every one of you who continuously help out the team - your love and support motivates us every day! SSG Brantstrator grading an A BTRY APFT Assassins!

July has been a great month for the Barbarians. During this month we have had some much needed time off to offset the time that we spent in the field away from our Families. During the month our Troopers have begun training for recertification that will be coming up post block leave. We conducted Combat Water Survival Training, completed some marksmanship training for our new Troopers, and continued to hone our skills as Paratroopers. As we prepare to head into this well deserved block leave period, I would like to thank each of you for your support and hope that you have a wonderful and safe vacation. Finally, we would like to congratulate the Bruner and Smith Families on their recent births. If you would like to volunteer, contact Mrs. Brittany Gilstrap via our Battery email at bravobattery2321@yahoo.com. Barbarian 6/9

FRG Meeting: 26 August @ 1800 (Motor Pool Classroom)

Greetings from Team Grizzly!

Grizzly Family, Thank you again for your continued support of the Company and our Paratroopers over the last month. July was a very successful month for us and our families who work diligently behind the scenes every day. Throughout the month, our Paratroopers have been hard at work developing both professionally and personally. Training in the month of July afforded many Troopers the opportunity to complete important schools, to include schools like the elite Modern Army Combatives Program. July was also a great month for family time as we enjoyed a handful of much deserved long weekends. We ask that you take the reinvigoration you have had with the time off this month and continue to lead from the front by safely enjoying your summer block leave during the first two weeks of August. We look forward to seeing you back on August 19th!

Summer time and the living is easy. These lyrics made famous by the late composer George Gershwin in his famous 1935 opera Porgy and Bess. The song is recognized as one of the most covered songs in the history of recorded music, with more than 33,000 covers by groups and solo performers. Here we are in the midst of a beautiful, yet rainy summer. Block leave is almost here and vacation plans are being made by many of our PRO Family. Some will head to the lakes, others to the mountains. Some will see Family and others will spend it with friends. No matter what you chose to do, everyone needs a break. We work hard and train hard and now its time to relax. Have you taken time to relax lately? If youre married, when was the last time you went on a datejust the two of you? If youre singlehave you enjoyed time with your friends or extended Family lately? If not, why not? We all need to take some time away from the stresses of life in order to relax. The burdens we carry are not meant to be carried alone, thats why friends and Family are so important! If Family and friends dont bring up a positive memory or cause more stress than relaxation, do some thinking on what part you might play in restoring relationships with healthy boundariestake the first step. Enjoy your block leave. You dont have to do it alonePsalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. List of Chapel Services on Ft. Creating an environment in which FRG volunteers are well recognized and feel supported by the FRG and company leadership can also be a motivating factor for family members to be inclined to volunteer in the future. Recognition needs to be provided in different ways that includes both formal methods (e.g., certificates, pins, and awards) and informal methods (e.g., saying Thanks! or Im glad youre here, or You really did a great job.).
