Chapter I Introduction Background and Nature of the Project Statement of the Problem Project Goals and Objectives Significance of the Project Project Scope and Limitation Operational Definition of Terms Chapter II Review of Related Literature Refers to readings (books, case studies, articles in journals, theses, etc.) that may be similar in nature with the thesis project per se or other aspects in the development and solution of the project, e.g. findings in the design of a similar project, how a particular method was applied, impact and implication of a research, etc. Advisers must remain vigilant about plagiarism and must take the effort to remind students of the dire consequences of plagiarism. Chapter III Research Methodology Refers to discussions on how the applicable research methods were used and applied in the development of the project. Consequently, a brief introductory discussion on the results of the methods used should follow. The expanded and detailed explanation of the results of data gathering will be explained in Chapter 6 Data Presentation. Chapter IV Site Profile and Analysis This will describe the location, the neighborhood context, size and zoning of the selected lot (The TCT is an optional requirement. The size of the lot may be measured through other means like using the pace factor, making an approximate measurement if using the Google Map, etc.), Infrastructure, social, and political boundaries, legal information, natural physical features, man-made features, circulation (roads, streets, alleys, plazas, sidewalks, etc.) and utilities. There are many more items that the student may use in order to explain his site. The analytical aspect will discuss how these features will impact on the design solution of the project.

Chapter V Project Profile and Analysis Discusses briefly the background of the project, the client, the organization or the agency who is assumed as the owner/proponent of the project. In addition, the student may also write what the project is all about, what it wants to promote or achieve, who are the beneficiaries of the project, etc. To aid the students, they may refer to the CLUP of their respective project or may use other data. The Adviser should see to it that a synthesis of the important items that are relevant and necessary for the development of their project be used. The cut and paste method should be avoided(except when stressing a point with proper citation of the lifted portion) when using any item of the CLUP. At the end of the chapter, an analysis and conclusion derived from the data gathered should be discussed. This should include the impact of the information, statistics, facts, figures, records, etc. to the development of the project.

Chapter VI Design Focus The Design Focus is the core, the heart, the meat of the thesis. It is here where the student shows the innovation, the contribution and the significance of his/her project. In other words, the design focus makes the thesis different from projects of similar nature. The Design Focus can be (but not limited to) any new architectural material, a system of construction, any green technology / building technology. The content of this chapter should indicate the origin, various applications, case study/studies of a building that used the same design focus (with an explanation on the impact of the result of the study to the students project). It must discuss the details, show diagrams, illustrations and other particulars which are essential to understand the design focus better. A discussion indicating the specific areas on where and how the design focus is applied shall be highlighted for this is the essence of the chapter. This should be followed by a conclusion to reinforce the contribution of the thesis. Chapter VII Spatial Analysis & Programming A brief textual explanation of the spatial dimensions of major areas should be presented in order to rationalize the need for such measurement. The standard Space Allocation Table shall form part of the chapter. The table is the basic format to be used, however, additional columns may be added for the satisfaction of the research. Chapter VIII Conceptual Analysis This contains the most critical aspect in the presentation of the design solution for the project. It will have the following: the design philosophy of the student either developed or acquired discusses his/her beliefs, concepts, and attitudes concerning man and his relation to architecture and the environment; the design concept (the thought, the idea, model, theory, impression, perception, etc.) that went into the evolution of the proposal including the design focus; the design objectives (e.g. intention in shaping a space, in creating an environment or an ambiance, in designing a space for a particular purpose) These are statements containing specific aims on how a project shall be designed or planned. Most often, the DO relates to the PO

(project objectives). If the PO is intangible, the DO is the tangible method of designing the project. the design consideration/s refer to the factors that may influence the achievement of a design objective/s (e.g. lush vegetation, traffic, social mores, population density, orientation, building character, beliefs, etc. the design criteria includes design principles necessary to create a functional and dynamic structures; standards, norms and conditions the proponent should meet in designing his/her project.

Chapter IX Final Architectural Design Solution This will contain a textual description of the design solution and graphical presentation of the entire thesis project which includes the following: design concept sheet/page, site development plan including vicinity map, floor plans, elevations, sections, interior and exterior perspective, architectural bay section and details, structural concept and details.
