Reserved Reserved Reserved Reserved Reserved GENERAL Section 75 of the Supplementary Specifications is applicable to the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Works under the Contract. These Supplementary Specifications shall be read in conjunction with the Standard Specifications for Building Works And Other Installations. In case of any discrepancies between the Supplementary Specifications and the Standard Specifications, the former shall take precedence. It is the intention of the Drawings and Specifications to provide a complete operating system. The omission from the Specifications or Drawings of any details in construction, installation materials, or specialties necessary for a complete operating and safe system shall not relieve the Contractor from furnishing and completing the same in place all at the Contractor's own cost and expense. Should the requirements of the Drawings or Specifications conflict with codes, regulations or standards, the most stringent of the requirements shall govern the Works.

75.7

OBVIOUS WORKS It is the intent of the Drawings to provide a complete, safe and fully operating system, unless otherwise specified. The omission of an expressed reference in the Specification and/or Drawings to any item of material of fitting or for the performance of any works deemed necessary for a complete, safe and operating system by the S.O. or performed in accordance with good trade practice shall not relieve the contractor from providing or performing the same in place, complete, at the Contractor's own cost.

75.8

GENERAL EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

75.8.1 The equipment and materials shall be suitably designed and constructed for safe, proper and continuous operation under all conditions specified or implied in this Specification without undue heat, strain, vibration, corrosion or other operating difficulties. The equipment and materials shall be of standard proven design. Designs incorporating components, which may be considered prototype in nature, will not be accepted. 75.8.2 Parts subject to wear or requiring adjustment, inspection or repair shall be accessible and capable of reasonably convenient removal, replacement and repair. All such parts shall be of suitable material for keeping maintenance to a minimum. 75.8.3 Separate components of equipment shall be marked with suitable reference numbers or symbols. These shall also be marked on assembly drawings to aid in the assembly at site and subsequent repair and maintenance. 75.8.4 All equipment shall be designed and manufactured so that no damage will result from transportation and from storage, installation and operation of the equipment under the Singapore climatic conditions of 35C, 95% RH. Unless specified otherwise, all heavy components of slants and equipment shall be provided with convenient means for slinging or handling during installation or maintenance such as lifting lugs, eyebolts, etc. 75.9 SHOP DRAWINGS

75.9.1 The Contractor shall prepare and submit to the S.O Rep for approval for all the services including, Sanitary, Water Supply, Gas Supply, Wet/Dry Riser, Hose Reel, Mechanical Ventilation system etc. The shop drawings shall include the details of equipment, make and power consumption, plant/equipment layout, pipe and duct routing showing full details. Detailed calculations shall be submitted where applicable. All equipment and materials proposed shall be submitted for approval. The shop drawings shall be prepared in accordance to authority submission (City Gas, PUB, FSSD, BCA & CPBU) clearance format and SS CP83. Shop drawings shall cover complete details for the following but not limited to: a) Layout and longitudinal views of the following: Actual sizes and positions; All fittings and other accessories; All anchoring or hanging points; Construction details where necessary;

75.9.1 (Contd) b) c) d) Top ,invert levels and depth of all Inspection Chambers. Operation loading of all items of plant, equipment and accessories. Dimensions of all plant, equipment and accessories, which include the detail drawings of superstructure construction necessary to finalize the superstructure requirements. Equipment room layout, showing all clearances for operating and servicing and in sufficient details to ensure that the provision made in the Contractors working drawings shall be adequate and satisfactory. Detailed information and dimensions for works to be carried out by others e.g. plinths, equipment bases, openings, plant rooms, structural supports, power supply requirements, water supply points etc. Operators control console/supervisory panel layout, main control panel and sub-control panel layout and all control schematic diagram and wiring diagram (including electrical, electronic and/or pneumatic) Electrical switchboard layout and single line power diagram and all power cable runs Vibration Isolation Equipment. Hangers and supports Chases, drains, openings in walls, floors, roof slabs and beams. Piping, ducting and electrical cable runs. All other items as reasonably required by the S.O. Rep.

75.9.2 These layout drawings shall be based generally on the tender drawings, modified only as required to suit the specified materials and equipment to be provided. The drawings shall be fitted in with the latest available information on building construction details and the requirements of other services and equipment and also to incorporate any improvements proposed by the Contractor. 75.9.3 The shop drawings shall be drawn by a fully qualified draughtsman with experience in relevant Installation Works. The drawings shall be neat and clearly legible.

75.9.4 The drawings shall be drawn in the same scale as the tender drawings. Details shall be drawn in larger scales. Where applicable, symbols the same as those in the tender drawings shall be used and all other symbols shall conform to the acceptable local drafting practice. 75.9.5 Legend for all symbols shall be shown on every drawing.

75.9.6 Four (4) copies of each drawing and their .dwg format files in CD-ROM, specification design data and all other information required by the S.O. Rep in sufficient details shall be submitted for approval. Drawings with inadequate details and not conforming to the requirements as stated above will not be considered. 75.9.7 Upon approval of the drawings, the Contractor shall deliver four (4) copies of each approved drawing to the S.O. Rep for the purpose of Contract administration. 75.9.8 The drawings shall be submitted in ample time for review and approval by the S.O. Rep and no work shall be carried out until such drawings are approved. The Contractor shall allow a period of not less than four (4) weeks for the S.O. Rep to study the drawings for approval. 75.9.9 Should any of the shop drawings and/or information submitted indicate that the equipment proposed is not in accordance with the specifications or the equipment layout is in the opinion of the S.O. Rep not suitable for the installation, the Contractor shall be notified by the return of the documents, notice of disapproval and instruction, if necessary, the Contractor shall resubmit the Shop drawings for approval. 75.9.10 The Contractor shall also produce and submit to the S.O. Rep co-ordination drawings for all services including information of the building. The drawings shall show sufficient details for construction in a coordinated and orderly manner. 75.9.11 It is the onus of the Contractor to ensure that his drawings conform to the requirements of the Specification and that they are approved by the S.O. Rep early. 75.9.12 The approval of the shop drawings is not to be considered as a guarantee of measurements or building conditions. Where drawings are inspected and approved by the S.O. Rep such approval does not in any way relieve the Contractor from his responsibility nor from the necessity of furnishing material or performing work required by the Drawings and Specification.

75.9.13 The Contractor shall constantly bring all drawings and other documents up to-date. Each new issue of the drawings shall be given an index, and the relevant modification shall be clearly indicated. 75.9.14 Schedule of submission of shop drawings shall be submitted for approval not later than four (4) weeks after award of the Contract.

75.10

SANITARY SERVICE All invert levels routing shown in the tender drawings are indicative only. The Contractor shall coordinate the actual routing of the drain lines and depth of the Inspection Chambers/ Waster Sumps on site. Any deviation of the routing and Inspection chamber/ Waste Sump levels due to any site constraint shall be deemed included.

75.11

WATER SERVICE Separate private water sub-metering system shall be provided for water pipelines for general washing purposes. Locations of sub-meters shown in the tender drawings are indicative only. It is the Contractors responsibility to ascertain that site constraints are being considered before submission of shop drawing to S.O. Rep for approval. Standards of material and fittings and method of installation shall be in compliance with the latest Code of Practice for Water Services, SS CP 48.

75.12

MISCELLANEOUS The following scope of works shall deem to be included in this contract. a) Liaising with the relevant authorities on the Interfacing/connection/teeoff/tap-off of all the existing underground and aboveground M&E services/system with this contracts M&E services/system. Upon completion, Contractors LEW/LGSW/LP etc is required to conduct testing and commissioning of the upgraded, modified services/system/installation to ensure systems continuity, functionality and re-instatement of the services/system/installation works as a whole. Including endorsement and submission of all the necessary testing certificates and results to SO Rep and other authorities where applicable. b) Supply and laying of new cable entry upvc pipes and other associated accessories including creation of openings in the building and related building, civil and excavation works. Contractor is to note that the direction/location of the cable entry pipes is subjected to site constraints and PowerGrids discretion. Contractor and his LEW shall liaise closely with PowerGrid to determine the most appropriate direction/location of the pipes and there shall be no adjustment to the contract sum arising from this. Contractor to engage licensed detection workers to carry out services detection and to excavate trial holes to ascertain the exact location of these underground services and to liaise with the relevant authorities to terminate, divert, remove any existing abandon/unused services within this development. Diversion, termination, reinstatement and making good all existing M&E services/installation affected by the work to form a complete and operating system. Contractor to liaise with NEA, HDB, SP Services Ltd, Powergrid, Powergas/City Gas, Town Council, LTA and all other relevant authorities and Services Providers on all matters related to the works. Including submission, obtain approval/clearances for any M&E system related to opening of accounts, temporary shut-down, interfacing works/connections/tee-off/tap-off works, modifications, re-instatement works etc. Contractor to engage LSGW, LP and LEW etc to take over all the existing works due to the any modification, interfacing or upgrading of the existing works with the new works in this contract.
