Selected Rates for Employees under the Queensland Government Departments and Certain Government Entities Apprentices' and Trainees' Order. ( For a copy of the order refer to:

A Trainee's Wage Rate is a percentage calculation of the Relevant Adult Rate for the position within the wage classification worked. Other Conditions and Entitlements are derived from the relevant award / agreement
applying to the adult position/classification worked.

The Relevant Adult Rate for Education Queensland employees is the ordinary time wage rate of an adult engaged in a calling relevant to the traineeship classification in the workplace where the trainee is employed. If no
such rate is specified for Education queensland employees in their workplace, it shall mean the relevant adult rate in the classification structure used to calculate junior rates of pay. The rate shall not exceed the 100% rate
expressed.
Wage Progression during the traineeship is subject to attaining relevant competencies, or minimum time periods - as in Schedule 1 of the Order.
New adult employees aged 21 & over at the time of entering into a training agreement, are to receive the Queensland Minimum Wage as varied from time to time (currently
$1220.40 per f/n as from 01/09/2011)
Trainees with a Disability - special remuneration rates may apply where a trainee's disability prevents full performance of the range of duties to expected competence levels within their work classification (refer cl. 4.11 of
the Order for eligibility criteria, and seek advice from the Traineeship Advisory Team).

Salary Schedule - School Based Trainees

School - Based Trainees (S-BTs) rates are derived from the Queensland Government Departments and Certain
Government Entities Apprentices' and Trainees' Order, which can be viewed at:

An S-BT's wage is a loaded hourly rate calculated from the Relevant Adult Rate for the position within the wage classification worked. A loading of 19% applies in addition to the base hourly
rate. Note: this rate is NOT being affected by phased increases in the way that casual loading rates are - it will remain at 19% unless specifically varied by the QIRC in the future. Other
conditions and entitlements are prescribed in clauses 3.4 and 4.6 of the Order.
The Relevant Adult Rate for Education Queensland employees is the ordinary time wage rate of an adult engaged in a calling relevant to the traineeship classification in the workplace where
the trainee is employed. If no such rate is specified for Education Queensland employees in their workplace, it shall mean the relevant adult rate in the classification structure used to calculate
junior rates of pay. The rate shall not exceed the 100% rate expressed.
Wage Progression during the traineeship is subject to attaining relevant competencies, or minimum time periods - as in Schedule 1 of the Order. See below for an extract of Schedule 1
covering most S-BTs.

Trainees with a Disability - special remuneration rates may apply where a trainee's disability prevents full performance of the range of duties to expected competence levels within their work
classification (refer cl. 4.11 of the Order, and seek advice from the Traineeship Advisory Team).
