SYSTEM ANALYSIS

System Summary: GoodHealth Hospitals started as a superspeciality hospital in the year 2003.GoodHealth currently uses a robust document based system at their super-speciality hospital to maintain patient records and activities. The management suggests development of a computerized system that can take care of routine activities for a patient management. The quintessential pages in the system are:

LOGIN PAGE
Description: Displays a user interface for logging on to the system. Information Required: UserName: Login name of the Officer. Password: Password for the Officer. Functions Available: Login: Fires the logon routine with username and password.

ADMINISTRATION PAGES
1)

MedStaff
Description: Displays a user interface to maintain

the list of doctors and allow addition/deletion/modification of data for medical staff.
Information Required:

Staff ID: Unique ID of staff.


Functions Available: View All: Lists all medical staff. Delete: Deletes a medical staff details. Update: Edits a staff member details.

2) Wards

Description: Displays a list of wards in the

hospital and allows


Information Available: Ward ID: Code for the ward. Functions Available: View All: Lists all the wards. Add: Allows addition of a ward. Delete: Deletes a ward. Update: Updates a ward in hospital.

3) Laboratory

Description: Displays a list of testing services

available in the laboratory.

Information Required: Lab ID: A unique code for the tests. Functions Available: View All: Lists all tests offered by the

laboratory. Delete: Deletes an existing test from the laboratory. Update: Updates details of the test..

4) Pharmacy

Description: Displays a list of medicine in the

pharmacy.

Information Required: Medicine Name: Name of the medicine. Functions Available: View All: Lists all medicine offered by the

laboratory. Delete: Deletes an existing medicine from the pharmacy. Update: Updates details of the medicine.

5) Patients Description: Displays a list of patients. Information Required: Patient ID: Unique ID of the patient. Functions Available:

View All: Lists all patients in the database. Delete: Used in the case invalid patients

have been entered. Update: Updates details of the patients.

OPERATIONAL PAGES
1)

Reception

Description: This is the welcome page for the

Desktop Officer of Hospital Management System. Information Required: The system provides options to create a new patient or select an existing patient.
2) Existing Patient: Description: Allows looking up an existing patient

in the system by Patient ID. Information Available: The details are retrieved from the system and the system is redirected to inpatient or outpatient based on the type of the patient.

3) In-Patient: Description: Provides various functions for an In-

Patient.

Information Available: this page provides the

following function to an In-Patient. Avail Lab Service: List the Laboratory services provided to an In-Patient. Pharmacy: List the medicines that can be purchased by an In-Patient. Discharge Request: Loads the patient

discharge module to discharge a patient. Billing: Generates bill for apatient.

4) Out-Patient: Description: Provides various functions for an

Out-Patient.

Information Available: this page provides the

following function to an Out-Patient. Avail Lab Service: List the Laboratory services provided to an Out-Patient. Billing: Generates bill for apatient.

5) Laboratory Services: Description: Provides functions to enable a

patient to avail a lab service. Information Available: The screen displays the lab service available.

6) Pharmacy: Description: Provides functions to enable a

patient to buy a medicine from the pharmacy. Information Available: The screen displays the medicines available and the price of the medicines.

7) Discharge Request: Description: generates a discharge slip for a

patient.

Information Available: The screen calculates the

bill and discharges the patient .


8) Appointment: Description: Creates an appointment for Out

Patients with the doctor available. Information Available: The number of

appointments accrued over time is stored in the database.


9) Billing: Description: This screen creates bill for the

patient.

Information Available: Multiple bills can be

generated for each patient based on the services and the time of availing the service.

Lab Report: Description: Patient can view the report by

entering the lab report number. Information Available: the report can only be viewed after the patient has made the payment for the services availed.
