The History of Matchbox Twenty Matchbox Twenty originally spelled as Matchbox 20 is a rock band in Americ awhic h was founded

in 1995 in Orlando, Florida. Rob Thomas (lead vocals, piano), Kyle Cook (lead guitar, backing vocals), Paul Doucette (drums, rhythm guitar, backin g vocals), touring drummer Stacy Jones (drums) and Brian Yale (bass guitar) are the members of the group at present. History of Matchbox 20 1995-Formation of Matchbox twenty Brian Yale, Paul Doucette and Rob Thomas, were fellow member and with John Goff and John Stanley in Orlando, Florida when 95 to form a new band. They formed a new band under the name r recruiting Kyle Cook and Adam Gaynor with them and secured ording contract. 1996-2000 of Tabitha s Secret b they splitted in 19 of Matchbox 20 afte Atlantic Records rec

This was the period when Matchbox 20 tour of success started with their debut al bum Yourself or Someone Like You which was released in 1996 after their first sing le successful song Long Day and had provided them international popularity after b eing certified in USA with diamond and in Australia, New Zealand and Canada with multi-platinum.. Push , Real World , Back 2 Good and 3 A.M. were their other singles w h were placed among Top 40 singles during 1997 and 1998 out of which Real World an d Back 2 Good were band s first entries to the lists of Billboard Hot 100. Rob Thomas was awarded for three Grammy Awards- Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Popular Music Collaboration with Vocals for a song Smooth which he sung in collaboration with Itall Shur for a comeback album of Carlos Santana in 1999 and became a hit of the year. 2000-2002 Matchbox 20 was renamed to Matchbox Twenty on their second album which was certified of their popular singles If You re Gone gles Last Beautiful Girl and Mad Season ving people. However, the failure of these the band members. 2002-2007 Matchbox Twenty released More Than You Think You Are , their third rock album, in 2 002 for which Thomas collaborated with other band member for writing some if its songs. Disease Bright Lights and Unwell were the popular singles if this album but co uld not make it as famous as the previous ones even though the album got immense presence on the radio during that year. An EP consisting six songs was released by the band in 2003 as a live and acoust ic version of some of their previously released songs for the first time. The retrospective album Exile on Mainstream was released in new MVI format October 2007, after reunion of Matchbox Twenty, with four new and a collection of eleve n previously released singles. In 2008 Mutemath and Alanis Morissette associated the Matchbox 20 tour throughou t Florida, Hollywood, Las Vegas and NV along with Australia and New Zealand. The y did hundreds of shows and got billions of clapping from knowledgeable crowd. For the first time Matchbox Twenty visited the UK in five years and played six c oncerts and at the award ceremony of NASCAR Sprint Cup 2008. 2011-Present In September 2010 Rob Thomas announced for the probable release of the next stud io album release of Matchbox Twenty anytime during 2011 at VH1's Top 20 Music Vi deo Countdown. Later on Paul Doucette, the rhythm guitarist and vocal artist of the group, had also expressed the expectations of completing the next album of M atchbox Twenty by the beginning of 2012. In July 2011, Matchbox Twenty played their famous numbers in a live show in Teme cula, California as an expression of their love to their fans.
