Circle Time Review
This week we will continue to learn about transport in our circle time. We will finish our poster to put outside in front of the classroom. We will also be practicing our speaking and answering different questions like: What is your name? How old are you? What colour do/ dont you like? What food do/ dont you like? We will also be reviewing classroom objects as well as looking at thing inside our classroom. Like baby powder, soap, tooth brush, toothpaste etc. I will ask What can you see? And have the students take turns looking around and answering I can see a/ an

Family
Activity Time

Vocabulary: mom, dad, parents, sister, brother, brother and sister, sisters, brothers, grandmother, grandfather, grandparents Sentence structure(s): Question Who is he / she? Response He / She is my Question How many brother or sisters? Response brother/s / sister/s Song(s): Brothers or sisters Activities: Colouring in of family pictures and writing practice Make mothers day cards for mothers day Play a game using our big dice with some of the vocabulary words on it. Let the students take turns to throw the dice and say what word comes up. Game(s): Simon says: Tall the students to do an action like: Touch your toes or Jump and see who can do the action the fastest. Try to trick the students buy doing a different action and see who can do the correct action. What is it?: Draw a picture on the board and see if any of the students know what its. Have them ask Is it a/an answer by saying Yes, it is or No, it isnt

Phonics
Review
We will continue our review of blending two and three letter words this week. We will also be playing fly swat and circling letters on the board to review all the different letter sounds and names. We will continue our listening game where the students listen to a word and taking turns to fill in all the missing letters on the board. I have seen a lot of improvement in their listening skills after playing this game with them the past few weeks.

New (letters/sounds/vocabulary)
This week we will begin looking at words that begin with the sounds CH and SH Like: shark, chair, shell, sheep, chip, ship etc. We will also practice reading words out of our workbook in their word families. This week we will be focusing on the word families with the letter a in the middle of the word. -at, -am, -ag, -an, -ap

Writing Practice
We will be practicing writing out full words from our work book on the blank pages when students finish their work early.

Sight Words
The students are not currently doing sight words.

Parent Follow Up / Useful Websites / Homework:

This week we are learning about our families and all the people in them. Talk to your child about all the people in the family. Use sentences like Who is this She is my mother etc. Ask your child how many brothers or sisters she/ he has. Compare your family with friends.
