She has appeared on all the major opera stages and at the worlds most high profile events from the Beijing Olympics to President Obamas Inauguration and the Queen of Englands Diamond Jubilee. Now, she brings her extraordinary artistry to Sonoma County for an unforgettable opening to the second season. He is the recipient of four Emmy Awards, fifteen Grammy Awards and a Kennedy Center Honor for achievement in the arts. Herbie Hancock is a true icon of modern music. Throughout his explorations, he has transcended limitations and genres while maintaining his unmistakable voice. In addition to being recognized as a legendary pianist and composer, he has been an integral part of every jazz movement since the 1960s. With his voice on piano and dapper sense of style, he has wowed audiences in more than forty countries and released four CDs. Dont miss this spirited, uplifting evening of eclectic music. The Takcs Quartet

The consummate artistry and exquisite, award-winning recordings of The Takcs Quartet place them in the top ranks of string quartets worldwide. In their Weill Hall debut, they perform works by Mozart and Dvok and are joined by special guests Erika Eckert (viola) and Scott Pingel (bass). The Silk Road Ensemble


15th Anniversary Year

Founded by Yo-Yo Ma, this innovative ensemble draws together distinguished musicians from more than twenty countries and has performed to critical acclaim throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. Handels Messiah Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale

Venice Baroque Orchestra


Philippe Jaroussky, counter-tenor Sun, Feb 9, 3pm
Since its founding in 1997, the Venice Baroque Orchestra has quickly become one of the worlds premier period instrument ensembles, performing to great acclaim across the world. In their Green Music Center debut, they are joined by the superb French counter-tenor, Philippe Jarouskky, who has taken the classical music world by storm. Tickets: $40 - $85

Bahia Orchestra Project


Richard Castro, conductor Jean-Yves Thibaudet, piano

Modeled on the Venezuelan El Sistema, this Brazilian youth orchestra has won the hearts of audiences throughout Europe and Latin America. In their U.S. debut tour, they perform Ravels Piano Concerto in G Major with the internationally acclaimed French pianist, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, along with music of their native Brazil. An Afternoon of Opera David Lomeli and Leah Crocetto with The Santa Rosa Symphony

These two former San Francisco Opera Adler fellows have enjoyed meteoric careers. Crocetto became an overnight sensation when she won the 2010 Metropolitan Opera audition, while Lomeli earned first place in Plcido Domingos vocal competition when he was only 26. . Tickets: $40 - $85

Estrella Morente

This Spanish superstar began singing flamenco music with her famous father, Enrique Morente, at the age of seven. She gained her own following after her appearance on the soundtrack of Pedro Almodvars film, Volver. Her fourth studio album was released in 2012, reinforcing her legacy as a singer with grace, passion, and fire. Tickets: $30 $70

Jessye Norman,

Jessye Norman was born into a musical family and began singing in public when she was only six. Throughout her long and illustrious career, she has conquered operas most iconic roles in stages from Lincoln Center to Covent Garden, from Carnegie Hall to La Scala. For her Weill Hall debut, she performs American Masters in what is destined to be a season highlight.

Deborah Voigt is a preeminent dramatic soprano, who got her start at San Francisco Operas Merola program. She is renowned for her portrayal of Brnnhilde in Wagners Ring Cycle at the Met, and for her lead role in Annie Get Your Gun at the Glimmerglass Festival. Tickets: $40 - $85

The fast-rising Austrian baritone Florian Boesch, who recently won a coveted award for his Papageno at the Bolshoi Theatre, teams up with the critically acclaimed English pianist Malcolm Martineau for a collaborative recital of Schuberts exquisite song cycle, Winterreise.
