Ephesians 3:16-21 (NIV)

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit
in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray
that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the
saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to
know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the
fullness of God. 20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or
imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church
and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

To Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…

Just imagine- What is what you want the most?

Imagine- visiting the places you wish to visit

Imagine- If you had accomplished everything that you wanted to accomplish

Let us travel mentally to the future and imagine that each and every one of your dreams
had been fulfilled. How would you feel? Would you be happy? We serve a powerful God
and as the Word says, He can do a lot more than what we can imagine or ask. Now, the
things that we see are temporary. Just as the Word says in 2 Corinthians 4:18
(Contemporary English Version).“Things that are seen don't last forever, but things that
are not seen are eternal. That's why we keep our minds on the things that cannot be
seen.”

As of me, I can sincerely say the following, Of course I want good things, of course I
would like to have the best. Of course I have dreams and I want them fulfilled, but
honestly my dreams, are summarized in the following: To be in the perfect will of God. I
know that if I seek Him and obey Him, He will bless me. The beautiful thing about it is
that His blessings go far beyond of what I can imagine or wish. He knows what I need,
what makes me happy, and what cheers me. In fact, He knows me better than I know
myself and He wants what is best for me. If I am obedient, He will take care of the rest.
Clearly, Mathew 6:33 says, “But more than anything else, put God's work first and do
what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.” I start by saying to you: “I
have a dream and want to share it with you. Of course, as a pastor I would like to have
many things become a reality. I would like a bigger building, I would like for many
programs to be developed, and truthfully. I confess to you that I wonder why my church
has not grown to the level I would want.

Recently I had several strokes and after them I had to re-evaluate my thoughts. I found
myself with many physical limitations and I asked God why He kept me alive. I
continued with these thoughts until He answered in a dream. I believe it was the Lord and
that He told me, “I have a purpose with your life. I did not bring you with me because
you have not finished what I have commanded for you. I have given you a vision, but you
have not transmitted it to others and if you had died, the vision would have died with you.
When I realized this and meditated on it, I remembered the verse in Habakkuk 2:2 where
He says , "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may
run with it.”
What is the vision? How can I write it if I do not know exactly what He wants? This is
too much responsibility for me. I started analyzing my thoughts and defining in my mind
what is vision is. For me, a church vision is what God wants for a specific congregation
so that they can effectively fulfill their mission. A new question arises: what is the
mission? Well, that answer is apparently simple the mission of the church is to fulfill “the
Great Commission”, simply stated to make disciples and to teach them to make other
disciples. In the 21st century this is not that simple because children, youth and adults
have a different concept about God than the one that I had. They do not respect or know
God, nor His Word. The reason for this is that the church has tried so hard to be accepted
by the world they have forgotten to be acceptable to God. Many pastors and Christian
leaders are looking for ways to be prosperous and to be recognized by society. The result
is that they have preached a watered-down gospel, thus lacking its power. Brothers and
sisters, the church is to be blamed for the opinion the world has about the church.
Unbelief, nostalgia, and people living in the past have not filled the emptiness that has
formed in the world due to the church not doing its part. I suddenly understood what God
wass telling me and the vision that God has for His church. The vision is the following:

God wants to have a victorious church where the Word of God is preached and when His
Word lives in the heart of each of us, a place in which miracles and wonders happen
constantly. God is looking for a ministry where He is alive and you can see Him through
the testimony and preaching of its members, a place where He can demonstrate His
power by providing all of His peoples need, whether spiritual, physical or emotional. He
wants it to be a resource center, providing resources to equip Christians in order for them
to be able to minister in the 21st century.

In conclusion, my vision is simple…, that His vision be fulfilled. In order for it to

happen, we need to believe with all of our hearts and mind that Jesus Christ is Lord. We
need to obey His Word and to present His uncompromised Word, no watering down, no
excuses, and definitely not using any tricks. I want to be obedient. How about you? As it
is said in Nehemiah 2:18: "Let us start rebuilding."

los fortalezca a ustedes en lo íntimo de su ser,17 para que por fe Cristo habite en sus
corazones. Y pido que, arraigados y cimentados en amor,18 puedan comprender, junto
con todos los *santos, cuán ancho y largo, alto y profundo es el amor de Cristo;19 en fin,
que conozcan ese amor que sobrepasa nuestro conocimiento, para que sean llenos de la
plenitud de Dios. 20 Al que puede hacer muchísimo más que todo lo que podamos
imaginarnos o pedir, por el poder que obra eficazmente en nosotros,21 ¡a él sea la gloria
en la iglesia y en Cristo Jesús por todas las generaciones, por los siglos de los siglos!

Al que puede hacer muchísimo más que todo lo que podamos imaginarnos o pedir…

Imagínense- que es lo que más usted desea…

Imagínese- los lugares adonde usted desea ir…

Imagínese- los logros que usted más desea alcanzar…

Dé mentalmente un viaje al futuro e imagínese usted que todos sus sueños se han
cumplido. Todo lo que desea le ha sido dado. Los lugares que usted deseaba ver los ha
visitado, y para que las cosas se pongan mejor, usted ha alcanzado los logros en su vida
que quería. ¿Cómo se siente? ¿Está feliz?

Le servimos a un Dios todopoderoso, a un Dios que como dice la Palabra “puede hacer
muchísimo mas de lo que podemos imaginarnos o pedir.” Ahora, las cosas que se ven,
que se palpan, son temporeras. Como dice la Palabra en 2 Corintios 4: 18, “no mirando
nosotros las cosas que se ven, sino las que no se ven; pues las cosas que se ven son
temporales, pero las que no se ven son eternas.”.

En cuanto a mí, les puedo decir lo siguiente, claro que quiero cosas buenas, claro que me
gustaría poder recibir lo mejor, claro que tengo sueños y que me gustaría alcanzarlos,
pero honestamente, mis sueños se resumen en lo siguiente: estar en la voluntad del Señor.
Yo sé que si lo busco y le obedezco, El me bendecirá. Lo lindo de todo es que sus
bendiciones van más allá de lo que puedo imaginar o desear. El sabe lo que necesito, lo
que me hace feliz, lo que me anima, en fín, me conoce mejor de lo que yo mismo me
conozco y quiere lo mejor para mí. Si soy obediente, El se encarga de lo demás.
Claramente Mateo 6: 33 nos dice: Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su
justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas. Comienzo por decirles lo siguiente: Tengo
un sueño y quiero compartir ese sueño con ustedes. Claro que como pastor me gustaría
ver un monton de cosas hacerse realidad. Yo quisiera un templo más grande, quisiera que
desarrollaramos grandes proyectos, y les confieso que muchas veces me pregunto por que
no hemos crecido al nivel que yo quisiera.
Cuando me dieron las trombosis tuve que revisar mis pensamientos. Me encontré con
muchas limitaciones físicas y le pregunté a Dios el porqué me mantuvo vivo. Este
pensamiento continuó hasta que El me contestó en un sueño. Era, en mi opinión, el Señor
hablándome y diciéndome lo siguiente: No te traje conmigo porque todavía no has
terminado lo que te he mandado a hacer. Te he dado mi visión pero no la has transmitido
a mi pueblo y si hubieras muerto, la visión hubiera muerto contigo.

Al darme cuenta y meditar en esto, me acordé del verso de Habacuc 2:2 donde el Señor
dice en su Palabra lo siguiente: “…Escribe la visión, y declárala en tablas, para que corra
el que leyere en ella.”

¿Cuál es la visión? ¿Cómo puedo escribirla si no sé exactamente lo que El quiere? Es

mucha responsabilidad para mí. Comencé analizando mis pensamientos y definiendo en
mi mente ¿qué es la visión? Para mí, la Visión es el resultado que Dios espera de su
iglesia. Es lo que Dios quiere hacer para que la iglesia cumpla efectivamente con su
misión. Entramos en una nueva pregunta ¿Cuál es la misión? La respuesta es sencilla y la
encontramos en Mateo 28: 18-20, “la Gran Comisión”. En resumen, Id y haced
discípulos. Parece simple, pero no es así. En el siglo 21, la gente ha cambiado y esta
nueva generación no tiene el mismo concepto de Dios que mi generación. Los jóvenes y
muchos adultos no tienen la misma forma de ver las cosas. Ni conocen o respetan la
Palabra de Dios, mucho menos a Dios. La razón es que la iglesia ha tratado tanto de ser
aceptada por el mundo que se ha olvidado de ser acepta para Dios. Muchos de los
pastores y líderes congregacionales están buscando la forma de ser prósperos y ser de
renombre en la comunidad en general. El resultado ha sido que tenemos un evangelio
aguado y falto de poder. Hermanos y hermanas, la iglesia tiene la culpa de que el mundo
tenga la opinion que tiene de la iglesia. La incredulidad, la nostalgia y la gloria pasada
han llenado el vacío que se ha formado en el mundo y esto porque la iglesia no ha hecho
su labor. Entonces comprendí cual es la visión, y voy a tratar de decirla y escribirla de
una forma entendible para que deje de ser “mi visión” y sea “nuestra vision” La visión
que Dios tiene para la iglesia es la siguiente:

Dios quiere tener una iglesia victoriosa donde la Palabra de Dios es predicada y está
viva en el corazón de cada uno de nosotros. Dios quiere un lugar en donde las
señales y prodigios se vean constantemente en nuestros servicios y actividades; en
donde se vé, a traves del testimonio y la predicación de nuestros miembros, que
Dios esta vivo y que tiene misericordia de todos los que vienen a El. Dios mostrará
esto al mundo al proveer para todas las necesidades emocionales, fisicas y
espirituales de los que le buscan. Yo sinceramente creo, que Dios quiere que nuestra
iglesia sea un centro de recursos para los cristianos, de forma que estos puedan
sobrevivir y ministrar en estos tiempos dificiles en que nos encontramos en el siglo
21.

Mi visión entonces es sencilla, que se cumpla la visión de Dios. Para eso necesitamos
creer de corazón en Jesucristo, obedecer Su Palabra, y presentar el Evangelio tal y cual
es, sin aguarlo, sin excusas y sin trucos. Yo quiero ser obediente. ¿Y usted? Como dice
Nehemias, “Levantémonos y edifiquemos…”
